Well Susan Lucci i would have said her networth is at 40 million dollars. I am just shocked though Kelly Ripa is worth 100 million dollars in forbes magazine. She currently makes 20 million a year, has a 27 millon dollar house in NY, a 10 million dollar home in the hamptons. They even said Ripa contract could go up between 25 to 30 milluon a year. Thsts insane money. Theres also other movie stars on daytime. Who is the richest to come out of daytime?

He hardly counts as former soap opera star but Brad Pitt. Followed by Kelly Ripa or Julianne Moore (I think more people could point Ripa out in a photo than Moore though, to be honest), at least in regards to name recognition.

At one time, probably Kevin Bacon, but he lost it all in the Madoff scandal from what I remember. Years ago maybe Kathleen Turner or Meg Ryan. But today it's long term TV contracts. Maybe Kathy Bates as well once upon a time. Morgan Freeman could have been it at one time. But it's a different time and place so ABC is spending money on Ripa. All the money is in cheap talk daytime shows now if you can be a host. Paging Julie Chen.

I thought of David Hasselhoff also. Given Knight Rider, Baywatch which was at one time the most popular show in the world - but I don't know his contract details. But he probably got a lot of residuals. But I don't think anyone is going to match Kelly Ripa...seems pretty easy to me.

    • I'm all for it. Get them Nina!
    • I am blown away that Christie Clark is 51, and she debuted 39 years ago. They gave her a lovely script today.  But, I could not think of any other examples in culture of someone able to jump right back into the skin of a character, after virtually retiring from acting years ago. I was trying to recall if Carrie left for a bit with Anna after Roman died (because she wasn't at Bo & Hope's wedding), and then returned as a pre-teen Christie?  Or if she was just SORASed off-screen?  But, whenever I see the character I am reminded how much more trauma she's endured than Sami, and yet she remains such a nice person.
    • Weirdly I feel like Nina was the most sus about the entire situation.  Normally I would have given this one to Carly, but Nina was always kind of trying to make it make sense. I think Nina (and Alexis) are actually really smart characters.  They just constantly get in their own way with dumb plans lol.
    • Rewatching some of 1991 I had to appreciate what a strong week March 5-12 1991 was. Cassandra dies, Nina shoots David, Sheila switces the babies, and drunk Nikki all occurring simultaneously. 1991 and 92 were pretty strong overall.
    • Still loving all the Gio fallout, but the scenes that really surprised me this episode were the ones with Nina and Maxie. I was not expecting Nina to be the one to put together all the pieces about Sasha's baby daddy. This custody hearing is about to get explosive!
    • I really hope after the secret comes out their interactions don't stop
    • BAHAHA  I needed that laugh today. Talk about one note.  I would put Derek and Ashley a notch above Dani. Dani's scenes are basically rinse, lather, and repeat for 60 episodes and counting.  It's as if she was transported from the soap opera Passions onto this soap.  MVJ should put aside her friendship/admiration for Karla and look at the fact that this character isn't wroking as written.
    • Agreed.  It doesn't feel in character at all.
    • You could always tell whenever Douglas Marland enjoyed writing for a particular actor, because he'd pull out all the stops for them; and Julianne Moore was no exception.
    • I'm sorry, but I just can't get past the fact that it was Lois, of all people, who deceived so many people.  No matter how hard Rena Sofer tries to justify Lois' actions - and boy, does she work hard! - it just isn't something Lois would've done.
