Jean did a pretty good job writing for Lucinda and Barbara in ATWT's last year. It was the main reason I even watched the last year.

I don't know if that will apply to Laura, but then, Laura has been poorly written, and not all that well-acted, since about 1998.

I didn't like Jean's last year at all. I didn't care for Barbara and Henry at all. And I wasn't here for Babs being locked in a damn closet with a clown. And I can't remember anything of Lucinda from the last year except for her ending up with John. That's it.

I could see why people wouldn't like Barbara and Henry, but she was written as a romantic heroine still with a bit of humor and edge. It was the Barbara I remembered, rather than the horrors that Sheffer had inflicted on the character.

Lucinda reverted back to the desperate schemer she had been in the Marland years, manipulating situations left and right (Holden/Molly, Craig and his boring ass long-lost son). The writing wasn't as good as Marland, obviously, and it had to end with her "seeing the light," but I still enjoyed it. That was the Lucinda I'd loved so much before she became a stylish grandmother and not a ton else.

I couldn't stand Barbara and Henry together. They were an awful pairing and the James stuff was just ridiculous. I know that CZ enjoyed the pairing with Henry and said she didnt really care for her pairing with Gunnar.

As for Lucinda….I also had forgotten about her last year….it was so dreadful the show that I blocked a lot of the last year out…..the whole Craig have a son named Gabriel…who I don't recall at all either was just dumb…...

All I really remember from Jean's last year was Juicy Janet…ugh…….

Beside Hal and James, Gunnar was her best pairing. But I didn't care for Henry as a character at all. The only time he seemed somewhat interesting was when they were entertaining pairing him with Bonnie, who was a rival of Vienna. But once that was squashed, Henry went back to being worthless. And his obsession with Katie made me hate him even more. Maddie was the only Coleman I cared for.

The only time I liked Henry was during his pairing with Vienna…besides that he was just one useless character who was Katie's gay friend/pal…..I remember at the time everyone wondering why Henry didnt have a male pairing…..

I wondered that too but I left it alone. I just thought Henry was always a waste, who should've left back in 01/02--whenever the Endicott award arc ended. Barbara needed a strong, stalwart man by her side. Not a limp noodle like Henry.

Like Lisa, I wish that they would've cast a new man for Babs. Randolph Mantooth (despite him playing Hal for awhile), James Kiberd (despite him playing Hal for a sec too), Larkin Malloy, Danny Parlato, etc. All of strong actors in CZ's age range could've played a suitable new mate for Babs.

Larkin Malloy was not all that strong and stalwart by the time he popped up on ATWT in that era.

To me Barbara was never really about the man and more about her own complex personality. I actually only liked her with one man in her whole run on the show. She had a lot of bad pairings. With that said, I was mostly just glad she had something to do that wasn't about her hammy shitstain of a son, and I didn't mind Henry, so it was OK with me. I did hate what they did with Vienna.

Sorry - this has gone way off topic. I guess it sort of sums up my interest in Laura, to be honest. I will stop now.

I didnt mind any of Barbara's pairing minus Henry. And yes they totally ruined the Vienna character…I think she was one of a few that I actually liked that was new to the canvas. She was much more appealing than that awful Juicy Janet.

And I was thinking the same thing…we have gotten way off topic…sorry Toups.:D

Well it wasn't like they were going to ever put her back into her element, BRO, so she might as well had gotten a love interest to distract her but Henry wasn't it.

I hate what they did to Vienna too. They should've divulged more on Vienna and Bonnie's history in Europe more.

Work...who works in PC...dayplayers...???

No one and that's an issue with all of the soaps across the board. No one has jobs. No one has ambitions. Nothing. Job related stories have always been my favorite type of stories on soaps b/c work relationships can always murk up your personal relationships. They are the perfect catalysts.

@DRW50 & @cassadine1991, I think we all were at fault. Clearly, ATWT is a sore spot for us all. :P

But yes, bring Lesley back. And as I said earlier, bring Deception back and put Laura in that orbit. I miss the days of this show when people used to go to work.

Yes to bringing back Deception. I'd have Laura hire some people as models or designers (Brook Lynn, Kristina, Maxie, Lulu, etc.)

IKR... You see people at the PCPD, they do nothing. The only characters that are actually shown working are Patrick Drake and dayplayer bartenders...

Remember the old Jabot, Newman workplace scenes?... tragic what has happened the last few years

Maxie I could see. I'd bring Serena back to rival Maxie. Lulu, regardless who played her, was always too dowdy to be in the fashion world. She just needs to follow suit of her grandma Lesley and become a doctor or nurse.

And they need to bring back Crimson Magazine too.

Before they give Maxie a meaty story …she needs to be recast….the actress(so called one) is just awful. She was horrible on Days and she is just as bad or worse on GH.

KS is good when Maxie is a bitch. Ever since they declawed her and made her Lulu's flunky, she's been a boring mess.

All she does is whine and complain when she's not in the loop where secrets are concerned….or she is with Plywood after another romp talking about how happy they are together….how boring…..
