Gwyneth Paltrow. You can always count on her presence to liven up festivities.

Of course I'm kidding.

That Annie joke was horrible lol

All the jokes have been horrible unfortunately.

All the jokes have been horrible unfortunately.

The opening was Neil's best part. The rest ... meh. I've chuckled but only because things have fallen so flat for him. I feel kind of bad but I don't think anyone there is thinking he's doing terrible, TBH. He's very popular.

I notice they have just about every African American actor and actress presenting. Coincidence? I think not. So obvious.

I REALLY hate when ANY show that's live goes into the audience. Just. Stop.

Yeah he has his fans and they are loving him hosting and are really giving him a pass at how bad he is.

Sadly, though, they'll probably run out of those by the third hour.

Yep.

No one will bash him for hosting. No one is going to say he flopped.

He's trying. The jokes are just .... lame and not very funny. I almost feel like he's sort of unsure what to do and afraid to screw it up so it's all just coming off ... like a mess?

And lord at that Everything's Awesome Lego song. I missed the intro of it and wondered what in the hell I was watching. LOL. I should have been tripping out on something watching that.

The ratings will still be lower than last year's show.

That Glen Campbell song was deeply moving. Reminded me of Johnny Cash's rendition of the Nine Inch Nails song Hurt.

Sadly true. I also noticed how they shoved Kerry Washington in there to present. I just find it all so ... obvious. You get called out for having ZERO black nominees so hey, let's have them present! Sigh.

These jokes...I tell you...if there were a way to raise Hal Kanter from the dead, I'd try it.

Now what the hell's going on? NPH in his underwear? srsly?

Well when he was the 3rd choice to host the Oscars you knew it was going to turn out badly.

I think the ratings will be lower as well, but there's been a lot of buzz about Neil hosting and the nominees, so who knows? But yeah, I think they'll be lower.

It's just lame and feels disjointed to me.

Why do we need skits? Why do we need musical numbers? Hell, why do we even need a host? Just have presenters give the awards. Have it be a simple but classy ceremony.

I hate the musical numbers. Feels like I am watching the Tonys.

When was the last acting award given out? JK Simmons has been it I think and that was at what, 8:45? LOL ... this is really dragging for me.

LOL, a bunch of actors just looked BORED AS !@#$%^&*]

This desperate f!ckboy is really in his drawers on the stage.

IKR?

"Birdman" homage or not, this is the Academy Awards, not the VMA's.

I should have been tripping out on something watching that.

I'm sure the crusty, old Academy members felt the same.
