State of Affairs: Discussion Thread

This looks really good. My issue regarding it is it's on NBC and I just don't do NBC anymore. I'll forget to watch.

I loved SVU and Parenthood and I don't even attempt to watch them anymore.

Was worried that this would be like scandal, but the promo showed other wise!

It definitely has Scandal vibes but it definitely looks much more procedural and less serial.

Has anyone seen this yet? I have watched the first four episodes and I'm enjoying it. While there's certainly a lot being said about Heigl as a person (and it's sometimes hard to ignore), she is an appealing actress and she knows how to sell it. Chris McKenna is also fabulous as Nick Vera (and fabulously hot). I am stunned it took me four episodes to realize this is the same person who plays Harding on THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS laugh.png

The case-of-the-week tends to be interesting and the show has both good supporting characters and a good central storyline but it often buries itself under the weight of how serious, dark and moody it is. The tone is so severe that any light/funny moments tend to be in sharp contrast and jarring.

I don't know what to say about Alfre. She seems so stiff and reserved. Some would call her crap. I know she can do far, far better than this.
