She was a notorious hypochondriac who insisted on being rushed to the hospital, where doctors and nurses determined that she was fine.

Yes although she developed a horrible reputation for wanting only her current show to succeed--someone (Agnes Nixon?) in the GL 50th Anniversary book mentions how, while Irna did give her proteges the other shows to take over, she often worked hard, it seemed to sabotage them once she left them.

This makes me laugh a little, as I'm pretty sure Agnes Nixon did the same thing right before she left GL in 1966 or 1967.
