I see what you're saying. I guess, to me, Kaye resembles some of those skeevy fashion designers strutting down the runway, who perv on some of their models, and think they're a god.

I'm not sure how he'll be in the role, so I'm not defending him, just explaining why he doesn't seem wrong when I look at him.

I generally think of Ridge as a perv and a creep. Not always (he wasn't with Caroline), but his first scene was leering at a model, then you have the whole Morgan backstory where he impregnated a teenage model, all the cheating, falling for a girl he raised as his biological daughter for a decade, and so forth.

I don't mean to trample over people who were fans and who hate this recast. I hope I am not coming across that way. Like I said, I'm not really expecting anything great either. I just can't say he doesn't seem like Ridge to me.

No, you're not, you're just expressing an opinion. lol I think Ridge was a typical, spoiled, rich playboy. I don't find it surprising that a young man who hadn't learned how to respect women (especially at that point) would leer at a woman or get someone pregnant. There's been much worse behavior from others. With few exceptions, I never saw his behavior as pervy or creepy. And, even if it was, then at least he shouldn't look pervy!

I know & I think a lot of the degeneration of Ridge's style was due to Moss inserting more and more of his own style into it.

It doesn't bother me at all. She was one of President Obama's biggest fundraisers and she has experience in the European television market, given B&B's foreign success, is a proven hostess of large gatherings and for a peaceful, second tier European country like Hungary you don't need more than that.

Once they announced Kaye as Ridge, I kind of knew they were just introducing a new character who just happens to have the same name and history as Ron Moss's Ridge. But after watching that, I am kind of shocked how lazy their approach has been to not even try to disguise it.

He looks like a slob and slobs don't last on a show this vacuous unless it's for comic relief. 6 months tops until another recast...

I'm going to reserve judgment. Honestly, I thought B&B has done a tremendous job during the past 12-15 months following the loss of RM and SF. The show not only moved on, but continued it's audience growth. I really didn't think that would happen. I'm not sure why they felt the need to bring Ridge back, but TK does have screen presence so I'll give him a chance. The good news about B&B's structure and production schedule is that they can quickly send Ridge back to Europe if it isn't working. "Logan, I tried to get past what you did with Bill and how you hurt Katie, but I can't. I'm going back to oversee the European operations." It's that simple.

A CBS Soaps in Depth promo on TV today posed two questions regarding Ridge's return:

(I'm paraphrasing and look away if you don't want to be further spoiled or barf)

1) Will Brooke get back together with Bill?

2) Will Katie and Ridge get together?

I barfed. I hope it's just typical misleading crap

Within 6-12 months, he will be gone. Whether due to Bell's Writer's ADHD or audience dissatisfaction or both. Moss will realize he wants his character back. Depending on whether he wants to return, you can add or subtract months.
