Legitimate Stay-At-Home Jobs

Do they exist? I'm in a transitional period in my life right now, and my current job is just not for me. I haven't been having much luck lately finding something better, and now with the holiday season approaching, I don't think anything good will arise until after the new year. Does anyone know of any legitimate and decent stay-at-home jobs? I don't know if these kind of jobs can be anywhere in the U.S. or if you have to live somewhere near their headquarters or whatnot (I'm in Chicago). Anyhoo... just thought I'd go out on a limb and see if anyone knows or has any experience in this area smile.png

Depends on what your skill set is like, most of the legitimate work at home jobs are in customer service and data entry (mainly transcription). The listings can be hard to find, but the Work Place Like Home has lots of the listings and that would be the best place to look.

I am a writer-for-hire in the entertainment industry, and that is as specific as I will get about it. I work from home. At times I go into the office. I wouldn't call anything I do on my couch legitimate, but they do and they pay me for it, even when I'm not wearing pants.

    • I'm good with the gushing, too. There aren't many soap icons like John Black, and that's important to celebrate and remember. And yes, life does go on for other characters, but as they say, timing is everything. Going sky diving the day before the funeral? And during a week of shows that were so powerful emotionally? No.
    • No. There might have been a slight pause for dramatic effect after his "death," but pretty soon after they showed him in France getting plastic surgery and getting involved with his doctor, then planning with her to bring Christina to France. (She thought he had good reason to do it; she wasn't a bad person or anything). Now that I think of it, there must have been some kind of pause before that, during the 70s, because when Rita was accused of killing a patient when she lived in Texas, part of the backstory was that Roger had been there, too. Not sure exactly when or how long that was.
    • Thank you. She’s disgusting.
    • I've already stated that I don't like Doug being written as this meek and submissive. It was so lame watching him leave her like that. Vanessa can divorce him, but she then needs to get her thot ass into therapy. She's not only having sex with every guy she runs into, but is now having  sex with a skeevy perv on a poker table. I'm going to give the BTG some credit here. For months, many on this board were delighting in the Vanessa/Joey flirting and what they saw as chemistry. I think we're now seeing what the writers always intended -- that Joey is a disgusting POS wannabe mobster.
    • John Black actually was the ultimate good guy soap hero. So I don’t mind the town gushing over him. It’s deserved.
    • Be glad it wasn't a Perry production.

    • The whole town gushing over John Black as if he was a saint is eye rolling.  I guess death really colors people's memories over his many flaws, but I guess that is normal and human nature. I'm still confused as to why Leo hasn't been written out.  The actor stank up two soaps with his sub par acting, what does he have on TPTB's to remain on these soaps.   What's the point of Cat?  I hope the new head-writers figure out her purpose and develop her character. And I much prefer scenes not focusing on John's death because life does go on for the world when someone passes.
