OLTL: Week Of July 1, 2013 Discussion

I miss Andrew- I'm not sure I need story for him at this point in time but his presence was always a warm one and St James and Angel Square helped make you really be able to envision the town. Oh I so miss St James at Christmas. But we'll need to start sending donations to PP for all those sets- hopefully we'll get a few new/old ones. Though maybe not Serenity Springs given we have a joint nail salon/tattoo parlor already- I'm sure its a spa too.

Your ability to work Jack, now Kate into almost all your comments amazes me. Not criticizing- just super amused.

well that storyline is one of the only s/ls on OLTL that is interesting to me, especially considering what's going on in the news and of course it gives my boy something to do though they do need to flesh it out more...

it's too bad that OLTL and AMC aren't celebrating the holidays

Fair enough. I need to see a bit more Kate before I'm fully invested but it certainly has potential.

Roger has been on pretty regularly, actually, but the seams are beginning to show a little.

Yeah, we need her backstory and see whether or not she's connected to the tattoo organization.. or if she isn't, I do hope that we see that Kate has had a history of sleeping with her students, because when there is one, there are bound to be more

I liked the scenes earlier on when Victor was trying to poison Todd.

OLTL has lost it's edge for me. I'd like Angel Square to return, a representative from the religious sector like an Andrew, and I'd like a villain with a dangerous presence. I know. I'm dreaming.

Angle Square is still on OLTL, since that's where Shelter is located at since it used to be Capricorn.

Yeah, I think it's bit greedy and unrealistic to want all these sets. I am a little surprised they didn't try to re-dress the street set (which looks so similar to AMC's) with a few Angel Square elements, but maybe it was too hard. I'd like some new sets too, but it's not one of my top concerns.

I agree, all I care about is the quality of the stories

ETA: speaking of which isn't the coffeehouse and the street set supposed to be in Angel Square??

Right? Just stick the Angel statue somewhere and fans will smile. But yeah, its low on my overall list of concerns- the limited number of sets doesn't really bother me and even the paring down of certain sets like La Bouliae. Sure I miss the Buch mansion & a few others but its not something that crosses my mind when I'm watching. Before they premiered, I was concerned about the shows looking cheap and they really don't so I'm good.

Exactly--I'm surprised they didn't shove an angel statue there.

I admit it does bug me on soaps when people eat+go for drinks, etc at the same venue (or one of two in this case) but honestly, during the last years especially, the network soaps did the same.

Doesn't AMC show some outside scenes? A car? An alley? Just saying, that some of that adds to the storytelling and the sense of movement.

yeah it's not like there are other restaurants in town.. it's a suburb, they should be other places, if only could go on location for some of these scenes

Yeah the alley where the coffee shop is located is the beginning of Angel square

Yeah, they've done a bit more of that than OLTL has so far.
