Members Y&RWorldTurner
It guess it's leaving SoapNet, since TV Guide now has the exclusive cable rights per this article. Strange, but I guess they must be making more money this way (as TV Guide channel is available in more homes).
Members dragonflies
Sounds like they're doing this as a backup for when SN is finally gone oh and you know they'll edit this to death
Members Marco Dane
CBS is buying the channel
Members KMan101
Didn't CBS just pretty much buy TVGN. I guess this is CBS starting to have a cable network outlet they have a stake in like the other big networks. Not complaining about it though. I wish they'd air classic episodes. Yeah, I thought so. Or at least buying a huge stake in it.
Members dragonflies
I bet they'll eventually air B&B as well, maybe they'll air other soaps at some point
Members Marco Dane
Am I the only one who thinks CBS is showcasing this to one up the GH anniversary? http://www.deadline.com/2013/03/its-official-cbs-acquires-half-of-tv-guide-partners-with-lionsgate/ CBS Acquires Half Of TV Guide, Partners With Lionsgate
Members Y&RWorldTurner
Yes, because releasing a press release about the cable rights of the show is such a hot news item that will overshadow an anniversary celebration...
Members Marco Dane
Make you wonder is SOAPnet really going off or is the network trying to be a ABC only network. Plus is DOOL going to jump ship too?
Members Cheap21
yes you are. Don't think GH has anything to do with this announcement
Members doolfan
The article says it will no longer air on soapnet this summer. But its a good thing. TVGN is seen in more homes than SOAPNet anyways
Members dragonflies
I just wish TVGN had an HD channel, shows in HD don't look great on a network that isn't in HD
Members Marco Dane
They do have a HD Channel
Members dragonflies
didn't know that, my Time Warner only has the regular channel, I might have to ask them about that
Members Eric83
SOAPNet is dead, Disney doesn't care if it's only ABC network not to mention they only have one soap. CBS bought TVGuide and now they're airing Y&R there's no conspiracy.
