There's a new pope. At least there's actual news today.

I figured that out right after I posted it lol. They broke into almost every channel here in Australia too with the news.

What happened to the generation of people who loved being witnesses to moments in history? I remember a time when the whole world would have come together in front of their television sets to watch this historic moment, regardless of religion.

Today's GH is not lost. You'll be able to see it tonight on ABC.com, YouTube, and if you still have it, SoapNet. And actually, why waste an hour watching GH live, when you can watch for roughly 36 minutes on YouTube tonight?

I am not Catholic so it doesn't appeal to me... Plus some of the stuff the Catholic church does sucks

I'm not Catholic, but I am very interested to see who the new Pope is. Being from NY/NJ area, I'm personally rooting for Timothy Dolan.

I'm not Catholic either but about 50% of the Christians here are, so this is huge news down here.

Since our cardinal made critical comments about the Pope stepping down, most people aren't supporting him. On the news, it seems like its pretty divided on who they want but I've seen a lot of support for the German cardinal and the Asian cardinal here.

My mom just said "If these people were Baptists like us. At least they would be getting some fried chicken and potato salad while they wait outside"

LOL. I'm an Episcopalian and we love to eat. Our church had a major fire one year, and the first thing we did was call a caterer to bring food for all the parishioners who were outside watching it burn.
