OLTL: The Prospect Park Era (old production thread)

If they want to bring someone on for Cutter, it should be his sister or mother. He already has three love interests, sort of. I'm counting Nikki though I'm not sure I should. Terri/Aubrey was so boring on OLTL. Her other half Austin/Rick Powers was at least mildly entertaining.

I'll agree that RC wrote Joey badly. However, aside from Chris McKenna, I don't think any actor has nailed the part of Joey, not even Tom Degnan.

How about Nathan Fillion. I feel many fans think he is Joey. Although I loved Chris Mckenna the best.

At the risk of coming across as a TOTAL hypocrite, I'm going to lay aside one of my hard-and-fast rules about history and continuity and suggest that OLTL forget about Cutter's ties to Aubrey and Alex. They made no sense to me, and IMO, nothing valuable could be yielded from them.

Instead, OLTL should hire Robert Newman (ex-Josh, GUIDING LIGHT) to play Cutter's (previously unmentioned) father. I see his character as a lifelong Marine, a stern and rigid man, who virtually chased his son away from the family and into a life of crime with his overly disciplined approach to fatherhood. (Cutter and his dad's relationship is so strained, in fact, it was the main reason why Cutter wasn't there when his more lenient mother died several years ago from cancer.) Cutter's dad has moved to Llanview, though, and Cutter isn't thrilled to have his dad back in his life -- a situation that gets exacerbated when Natalie attempts to foster a reconciliation and winds up at the center of a love triangle between father and son.

How about Nathan Fillion.

I have nothing against Fillion, but judging from his work on "Firefly" and "Castle," I feel like I know now why I was so "meh" about him on OLTL. I don't think Joey allowed him to explore his lighter, comedic side at all.

I still don't get why they even brought Cutter back in the first place.

They probably brought him back because Natalie needed a love interest on the reboot since Michael Easton wasn't coming back to the show as John!

I could name other people they could've brought back.. but I have no complaints.. I do hope the stuff he did to Jessica is brought up, totally hate what he and Ford did to her.. (so happy Chandy got Ford)

If Cutter is back to give Natalie a love interest aside from John, then why not just create a new character to do the same thing? Heck, they could have had Jeffrey to fulfill that function (if they had cast someone older)!

Why create a new character when it could be someone who was already in the cast, played by a good-looking, good actor, with ties also to Rama?

but then wouldn't other characters (Alex, Aubrey/Kristine, Kim/Aubrey) be mentioned and possibly return since they also have ties to both of them??

Cutter is too isolated...he needs his lovely sister, his "sister", and his mom back on the canvass.

and Alex has way more ties to everyone on the canvas from the Buchanans to the Mannings..

Aubrey/Kristine, I know people "don't [!@#$%^&*] care" but come on her last name.. also has a certain tie to Llanview's past

I would love to see more family for Cutter! But I also want them to use him more with Rama right now. They are interacting very surface level so far.

I don't understand what Rama has to do with Cutter OR with Natalie. Is she needed that much on the show or in their lives?

If you think that Natalie is one of Cutter's "sort-of'' love interests on the show, then why do you have an avi pic of the both of them? And you shouldn't count Nikki and Rama as his other love interests because Nikki is just Cutter's casual sex partner that he's no that serious with, and he's only just friends with Rama (even though they sometimes flirt with each other) because she's going to be paired with David soon!
