AMC: The Prospect Park Era (old production thread)

I think it will probably be something they're doing more so for hits (<-- internet ratings) initially. I agree with you, hopefully they won't take it too far. I'm not opposed to nude reflection showing through a shower door, some side boob, some butt along with the regular daytime fare - but anything more than that is not something I really want to see.

*Exactly*. I seriously, seriously doubt it would be anything more than that. While they are proudly saying the show can be edgier, I think those involved know enough about soaps and the audience that they don't want to alienate people (and potential TV broadcasts on basic cable) with Skinamax style sequences--and while many soap actors have done those soft core films, I'm sure a lot of them, even the newbies, wouldn't sign up for that. (Yes, many new actors happily seem to sign up to do nudity on a show like Game of Thrones but that's a huge budgeted show that even before the premier had a certain prestige factor to get on, being on HBO and based on high profile novels.)

I do think it makes sense in this day and age to make the sex scenes a little steamier (even if I admit, I often find sex scenes on soaps embarassing, though part of that is they try so hard to be sexy while still having the women in bras or holding the sheets past their chest, etc.)

Daniel Covin: Hunter has style! #AMC

I hope he's not wearing his own company's FadedWhatever 90s style skater wear... *feels like a grumpy old man*

Eden Riegel: First day on set back in Pine Valley going great! Fabulous fitting, wonderful old friends, and the crafty is top-notch. #AMC2.0

Everyone seems to be going on about the food supplied... Which makes me wonder just how stingy ABC was on food service in the last few years--and if PP can keep this up or if it's just something for the first week and then they'll be down to chips and dip.

I know--while the tweet was very cute, it also made me feel very sad about being 32. LOL

Fusion represented Brian Frons' limited vision and everything that sucked the life out of All My Children. I hope the company went bankrupt and ConFusion (with its godawful lighting) burned to the ground some time during the 5 year jump and they're never mentioned again. Give me Enchantment (and Val!) over that two-bit place any day.

Val! The actor still does drag in New York, so he could easily come in for a few scenes. And completely agreed. I *really* hope they execs know how hated (sorry AllMyDaysAtGH :( ) Fusion largely is. Mostly they seem to be aware of some of the fan complaints, but who knows--I'm still used to the typical network soap thing of the past few years where, when a new regime comes on, they claim they've been listening to fans, etc, and then they seem to just focus even more on what people seem so tired of.

I like this one because this is where you can see that Canary has his Adam Chandler hair on. See that little wave at the front? That wave is POWER! LOL!

I am SO EXCITED that David Canary is going to be a part of this! The Chandlers were the only ones that didn't have a family portrait in the finale. I can not wait to see a picture of three generations of Chandler men.

I remember AMC - and I think Debbi and Darnell - claimed Agnes was involved in consulting on Jesse's resurrection storyline. Granted, they've said Agnes has "consulted" on everything for years, but I always wondered about that one. The one thing that struck me about that was the use of the great character actor David Rasche as the evil Roy Gardner, Ray's heretofore unknown brother. They didn't do much with him to explore that by the connection seemed vaguely Agnes-esque to me.

Once Fusion and ConFusion burned down, Jane leased the land and opened up Jane's Addiction.

I don't think All My Children had craft services in the last several years of the show. I believe that got cut out of the budget. In fact, I remember when Hot in Cleveland and All My Children did the crossover, one of the scenes on HIC featured some of the AMC actors nibbling on a huge spread of food at the craft services table. La Lucci commented that in reality, AMC's craft services consisted of a pot of coffee, and if they were lucky, a few bagels.

That was one of the complaints that the OLTL cast had when they moved into the old AMC studio. They didn't have craft services, and there was really no good eating establishments within walking distance of the studio.

I attended the All My Children NY Times panel in 2010 which Agnes was a part of, and she did confirm that she was involved in bringing back the characters of Angie and Jesse.

Since we're on the subject of craft services, I remember an interview with Felicia Minei Behr during the 1994 tornado storyline. She jokingly said that in order to afford all the special effects, the show had to cut back on the craft services for a few months.

Also, I remember when Eva La Rue landed at CSI Miami, she pointed out the biggest difference between working on All My Children and CSI Miami was the craft services. She claimed that at CSI Miami they had lobster tail. Yum!

I've heard that too. And Agnes did make jokes in interviews about Jesse's death on screen and then him coming back, etc, so obviously she was aware (of course apparently she would go to story meetings, at least occasionally, up until the Pratt lock out--though nobody had to take her advice.) David Rasche was great even if his story wasn't as developped as I'd like.

To give some credit Brown and Esensten, I do believe what they said that it was their idea to bring Angie and Jesse back--they wrote fairly well for the actors on The City.

I wish that had been filmed, like some of the Paley Center stuff from the 80s.

There were cameras there. I'm sure the NY Times has an archive.
