Here's the first promo for it. And, it's a 50 anniversary promo too. Not sure if I should have put this here or Spoiler Island. But, there's not really many spoilers in the promo. But, move if so.

Lesley didnt adopt Laura, she is Laura's biological mom. Laura had been taken at birth and was raised on a compound with Amy. When Lesley found Laura, she took them both in.

Thanks for the correction. For some reason, I thought that Lesley had adopted Laura (what with Laura's fifty last names and all).

1. Was this compound for a cult?

2. Is Amy biologically related to Laura or Lesley? If not, did she ever have any biological family? A husband/boyfriend/kid, even?

  • Members

I think it was a cult, but I'm hazy.

No Amy is not biologically related to either, but was raised with Laura on the compound and with Lesley. She never had any biological family

I think it was a cult.

Amy was the Vinings biological daughter, so no she was not related biologically to Lesley or Laura. Lesley just took her in too when she brought Laura home.

Yes, Monica came from a poor background, was orphaned, and got taken in by Gail Baldwin. Mitch was the first in the long line of her no good husbands.

According to an A&M scene on YT from 1978, she grew up in an orphanage in St. Louis before Gail took her in.

Here's one thing that confuses/pisses me off, though:

In the People 50th Anniversary issue, it says that Monica had an affair with Gail's husband (before Lee). I thought he RAPED her and she kept it a secret from Gail, who THOUGHT they were having an affair. After Luke raped Laura, Monica confided in her at the hospital about her own rape. Wasn't that by Greg Adamson (Gail's ex-husband)?

I don't know. Monica may have had an affair with Greg, but if he raped her, THAT is what should highlighted there, and People didn't do that.

Sorry, that just bugged. Rant over.

This was before they both moved to Port Charles. Gail was Monica's foster mother when she was a little girl and a teen. I don't know which one of them showed up on the show first.

Yeah, pretty much.

Did Monica and Scott grow up with one another (since I know that her husband was Scott's father)?

  • Members

Yes, Amy was the biological child of the Vinings. My bass

Also, you're right Mary about Monica and Gail re: the rape

Yes, more or less

I thought she ran away to a commune when she was a teenager (pre-Scotty)? Wasn't that one of GF's first SLs as Laura after she took over from Stacey Baldwin (the original Laura)?

I think she and Amy's parents (the Vinings) were just a normal, middle-class family. Laura was switched at birth with the Vinings dead child.

After their parents died, Amy went to live with Lesley and Rick.

Before they were on canvas, Monica had been in love with Rick, believed he died, married Jeff, came to PC, discovered Rick was alive and was married to Lesley, and thus began the affair.

I think. I'm a little hazy about that era.

Brock. During one of her beatings, he threw her down the stairs and she was forced to have a hysterectomy.

Hopefully, Brock met a grisly end...

Jeff as in Liz's father? Jesus...

When did Alan become involved in this quadrangle?

What ever happened to Bobbie's husband Jake?

Im annoyed that these episodes are airing out of order. I wish they had gone in chronological order for continuity sake

I think the Vinings had joined the compound and she ran away to be with them and Amy and when Lesley found her, she brought and Amy back to Port Charles to live.

You may be right...I am so hazy around that time

Brock was murdered.

Yes, Liz's father.

I can't remember, but not long after
