HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

Agnes is consulting. She can provide input on the shows whether there is a WGA deal or not. She created the shows, so I'm sure she's not giving a damn if she doesn't get her WGA residual check for any writing she may or may not have done.

I'll repeat myself on the WGA though. Just because a WGA deal hasn't been signed/agreed to yet, despite plans apparently in place to get a deal done, that does NOT mean Prospect Park can't hire a fi-core writer as the HW of AMC and OLTL and keep them there. Josh Griffith went fi-core and he is the HW of Y&R. Let's not forget these details, people.

These are the fi-core writers per Toups' report back in 2008: http://www.soapoperanetwork.com/2008/02/breaking-news-list-of-financial-core-writers

Here is the list of “Fi-Core” writers:

UPDATE: April 18, 2008

The WGA released a letter today naming more writers that I didn’t originally have.

The list of writers are:

“The Bold and The Beautiful”: John F. Smith
“Days Of Our Lives”: Dena Higley (went “Fi-Core” just before the strike ended in February)
“Passions”: Marlene Clark Poulter, Clem Egan, Darrell Ray Thomas Jr.

James Harmon Brown is fi-core, and he does have history with the show. Not that he'd be good, but I am just saying he is a name that would be available.

Hey, if they don't get a WGA deal done and only can use fi-core, that means Megan McTavish will never get her hands on AMC again!

Can't see her going fi-core to write for the show after she publically blasted James Harmon Brown and Barbara Esensten (her successors at AMC)for going fi-core during the strike.

It could be a totally out of left field writer from primetime or the book world, not necessarily one of the usual soap suspects. I was listening to Brandon Buzz's interview of Susan Bedsow Horgan last night and she talked about how Linda Gottlieb added her to the writing team so she could assist novelist Michael Malone with the ins and outs of soap opera.

Hello Everybody. One Life Lives. And good things come to those who wait. Or so it is said. About an hour ago I agreed to be part of the OLTL revival and I'm thrilled to be involved in entertainment history as the show we love moves to other formats. The fans consistent drum beat of support played a large part in Prospect Park never giving up trying to find a solution. And today they announced it to the world. With the cherry-on-the-top-news that Agnes Nixon has been hired as a consultant! For those who doubted, I don't blame you as this has never been done before. For those who never lost hope and never stopped writing and calling, well, good things come to those who wait. Congratulations to you all. Welcome back to Llanview. Love, jerry verDorn.
