I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Pretty sure Craven's screenplay is online and I read it when I was going through some fascination with his films (and how he has to be one of the most inconsistant horror directors out there with films swinging wildly from horrendous to great--of course he did give us a TV movie with Susan Lucci as Satan at a health spa or whatever, so...)

It was a hilarious epi where they made fun of bad acting on soaps, obvious product placement, and the pretty actress that everyone knows was hired for her looks.

Speaking of censorship and such, will ABC have no control whatsoever over what PP does with the show even though they own the rights? Will PP be in complete control and therefore they are the only ones to decide what happens on the shows?

On a different topic, watching a stream or a video of rebooted AMC on my future iPad mini from my couch just might be something I can manage, though I don't really want to have to pay for it.

Well she was original recipe Viki Lord on OLTL & also Interm Head Writer in 1999 between Pam Long & Megan McTavish . She also wrote other soaps as well

Yes I knew about Viki--who do you take me for But actually I had no idea she had ever written at OLTL.

IF that happens maybe PP will be wise enough to understand the fans are the pay check and fire her. If they get a bad HW like Megan or Dena I am sure that would be ABC's Advice and PP would listen to the fans and make the necessary changes!

There is so much rich material to be mined from real life, played to death [!@#$%^&*] like doppelgangers doesn't need to happen on soaps ever, ever, EVER again.
