HOLIDAY MIRACLE: Prospect Park Back On Track To Revive AMC and OLTL

  • Member

WTF!!!!!

EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

Right, I'm going to bed. Let us know when there's actual news.

Scotty, you haven't created ANY of the drama here, so don't talk nonsense. I appreciate all the links, etc, as well--I never even think to try to look for them myself, and would probably never find them if I did. I admit, I find tweets VERY hard to read--I'm such a neophyte I can't even tell most of the time who they are from, or to, or what they are talking about--but I don't mind them at all, and I think it's silly to complain about them when most of this thread is made up of posts like "SEE I knew PP would mess it up!!"

That's where I am too - I can't read most of the tweets, but that's just because I struggle to understand Twitter (and I generally see it as a toxic waste dump). I hope you will continue them.

twitter is hard to read for people not on twitter cu you have to read it from the bottom up, and when c/p it adds in the user name, their display name, the time, etc and makes it look whack.

I love twitter though. I just read a great article on how it has basically saved Scandal and kept shows like Pretty little Liars going. Whenever I have an issue with a prodcut or company and bitch on twitter they get right back to me. Twitter is great, but people do show their asses on it but I enjoy that too.

Yep I say keep them both in same thread until they first Air in April. Then seperate threads

Amen. It makes zero sense to me, to do otherwise. No offence meant to anyone (isn't it great how people say no offence when they know offence prob will be taken?), but I really don't get the complaints that a fan of one show has to trudge through this thread to only find out info about AMC, for example. Right now, the info that's going around, more often than not, is related to BOTH shows.

If and when we start getting specific info about the filming, etc, of either show (I guess, if things are to be trusted, AMC will be first), then I think a case can be made for seperating the thread. Otherwise, it's gonna be a lot of info posted on both--and, I suspect (this may be arrogant of me) that more people than not will be checking both threads, rather than the people who would only wanna check one...

It's more the constant bile that is sent to a lot of people which bothers me. I guess at least those people have to show their asses, instead of sending private hate, but sometimes this turns my stomach.

That and the desperate attention whoring.

OK I have no idea what this means. First I was stumped yesterday with the GH character that John likes to save apparently called "Samsel" and now this. I hate net slang... (It took me at least 6 months to realize what people on here meant by SMH)

Well I didn't mean that I had created any drama...just with everything else going on and some people complaining. But I understand what you are saying...and I have difficulty a lot of times trying to decipher tweets as well.

OK, then snap out of your own drama ;) Your links and tweets (why do I always want to write twits) are much more appreciated than not. It's up to you, of course, but I'd find this thread a much rougher going without them, and I think a lot of others on here appreciate them.

I am erasing your spoiler tags in my quote--it's ridiculous to do that in this thread, Brett, even if I appreciate your intentions

Posting some tweets from Jennifer Bassey in the spoiler tag because some people don't want to see what Twitter has to say mellow.png

They go newest to oldest.

  1. @lilbrick4 let you know if and when I hear anything. Stay well and hope AMC is a huge hit on the web.

  2. When I hear anything about AMC I will let you all know. Just got another movie. Yipeeee! CAnt talk about it yet. xoxox j

  3. Hope you are right about Julia Barr and David coming back. I won't be getting any more info on AMC until they start shooting. in 2 weeks

  5. @lilbrick4 David is not coming back as of yet from what I've heard. Lets hope he does. I wish AMC and OLTL nothing but great success. J

Oh boo. But the word (from who?) was that he was coming back recurring.... I wonder if she's in direct contact with him? At least she didn't say Barr wasn't coming back...

See, I just dont see that. I am careful about who I follow and interact with and once I see hate and attention whoring, i usually unfollow unless its funny, lol.

I dont mind actors snapping back at people. honestly its usually well deserved. I dont hold them to much a higher standard.

I think it's a mixed bag. I don't like when public figures get defensive (not that he's a public figure, but RonC is a good example of this--I think he would be better served by the good old bad old days when he might get hate mail and just ignore it). I do think for celebs it makes sense to have a private and a public account--I don't know if we gain much from feeling like we have a semi visceral connection to someone we only know from tv, or movies, or music or whatever, Do Gaga's Little Monsters gain anything by reading her tweets every thirty minutes that they wouldn't from a fan letter every month back in the 80s? (and yes, I know she doesn't write her own tweets...) I'm a hypocrit--I have a few people on my twitter, who tweet about once every month (I'm sure some on here can guess which four people I have) and one tweeted me back, and I was really excited. So I do kinda get it, but....

Maybe he still is recurring, but won't be appearing on the show anytime soon.

I hope so--and I think that could still be true. As much as I love Bassey, if they weren't using Stewart right away, she probably wouldn't know--and it would make more sense to have Adam and Brooke be there near the start than Stewart and Marian.

Why do a fan letter every month instead of a tweet? Twitter is vilified as some horrendous thing by people who are not on it and dont get it, and i dont get that. peopl like Ron C snapping at every little thing is annoying, but I dont mind it when people sit there all day and harass him and he snaps at them. Theres a different between those two thing, i think.

tweeting for a public figure is great because it establishes a false connection, more often than not, that helps them maintain a fanbase and gather support when needed. Seriously, Twitter is basically the reason Scandal is still on the air because the cast utilized it. ( http://www.suntimes.com/entertainment/television/18339722-421/perfect-scandal.html | http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/tv/2013/02/19/abc-scandal-builds-momentum/1930963/ | http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/kerry-washington-abcs-scandal-gets-418091 ) I find that amazing.

As someone who won't be reading both threads when they're separated, I have to say I think it makes perfect sense. Some of us just don't care for one show or the other and don't like having to wade through numerous posts looking for any news.

OK I have no idea what this means. First I was stumped yesterday with the GH character that John likes to save apparently called "Samsel" and now this. I hate net slang... (It took me at least 6 months to realize what people on here meant by SMH)

Once it gets beyond ITA or LMAO, I can be quite clueless. I still don't know what SMH means.

I don't think it's ridiculous to be spared from trying to decipher another twitter message that basically says nothing. Jennifer Bassey still hasn't been contacted and apparently didn't even know David Canary was returning. Why should we have to read through that if we don't want to? And thank you, Brett, for respecting those of us who don't need to read every tweet posted!
