I generally don't like to go in on people's looks (unless your name is Kristen Alderson, as that hooker just grinds my gears in every way possible, and of course the occasional Kim Zimmer joke), but from time to time I partake, jokingly. I don't think they went out of their way to find a lighter actress for Destiny at all. I think they went out of their way to find an older one who was hot. And I think it's pointless to stan for Shenell Edmonds who was an incredibly weak actor, and the Destiny character was ripe for a serious reinvention as an adult character. Changing her dramatically was the only way she was going to be viable, and that meant an older actress with the ability to play romance, regardless of skin tone or weight.
