EXCLUSIVE: Here is a great holiday gift for soap fans: I’ve learned that Prospect Park has revived its plan to continue cancelled ABC daytime dramas All My Children and One Life To Live online. I hear the company behind USA hit Royal Pains has inked deals with SAG-AFTRA and DGA for the soaps’ production, eyed to begin in the first quarter of 2013.

I agree Vee BUT none of these actors should be forced to do OLTL if they don't want too. That'd be like PP enforcing the contracts of the ones who signed the first time around(let's say if there was somene who ended up not wanting to do it this time around)

Yep. They are. And, KA and ME's are 3 year contracts. RH's is a year.

I have no idea why Prospect Park thinks they are hot [!@#$%^&*] and are allowed to do this to 3 living breathing human beings. Quit [!@#$%^&*] them over PP. Quit!

Okay, but playing devil's advocate - what would you do if you had the rights to those characters and were remounting the show, and they were on another one?

They're already being forced to do something they don't seem want to do/have no interest in, it's not much different IMO

All Im gonna say in recasting Starr if PP does that, well people didnt want Jessica recasted when ET left but BW was great in the role. Starr is not unrecastable.

Im still hoping PP & ABC work it out where they get to stay on GH as the OLTL roles but do OLTL as well when story warrants. I think that would be most beneficial to all.

Our sources on what they want or don't want are not the best - or at least, skewed.

I think the three probably want to continue on GH, but I'd be surprised if were averse to appearing on the new OLTL.

so any chance the actors will stay on Gh as new characters or did PP just make sure they were unemployed? Because they are doing this story that could have ME play Caleb, so if he ends up not, then I will take that as PP wanted them all fired because they didn't want to do their sucky cheap show and I will never support them for that

No one is being forced. GH can no longer film with the characters of Starr John & Todd after Feb 8th per the lease agreement that BOTH PP & ABC AGREED to. They have to write them out. Now PP & ABC can agree to let them play the roles on both shows or not. If Not P can recast those parts for OLTL & Gh can create new roles for KA ME & RH. These actors wont be out of work lomg. They are still under contract at PP

Ok, if that is the case....then what about certain storylines that they are "forced" to do while under contract with a show?

I can't imagine the Union is happy with this and couldn't the actors sue PP for firing them when they had no legal reason to do so?

PP is not firing the actors. PP is taking the characters back which they have the legal right to do,

I do think GH will have the legal right to create new characters for the actors but I think the issue is whether or not they're going to do that or if they can reach an agreement to share the characters. So right now, they're stuck, that's all. I think we've gotta relax for a bit until they figure this out, I don't think they're going to lose their jobs on GH.
