Y&R Casting Hispanic Role

Ashley Holiday is not a singer I don't think. But for me this has nothing to do with HH, I'm just not the biggest fan of BU. I don't hate her, she's just kind of there and I'd rather see a fresh face. I'm surprise dFV hasn't contacted her yet though because I heard RC wanted her to make a GH appearence. Starr needs more propping.

I didn't think for a second that it has anything to do with HH. I figured you might have some other reason for not wanting to see her fill the role.

Maybe Ashley Holliday doesn't sing so she can be the sister down the road.

I remember that people used to rave about Langston's relationship with Dorian but I don't recall being ultra impressed and I barely recall how she cheated on Marco. As for BU on HH, there were moments when Loren interacted with certain characters where she was okay. I didn't liker her with Kelly at all. She was fine with Nora and at times with Melissa who was generally a bit too much in an overly quirky Spinelli way--okay at first and then in mild doses after. Oddly, Eddie and Loren worked for me because they only had to focus on building a romance which I think worked. Their characters individually could be annoying. And maybe it's me but I found Cody Longo's dramatic scenes OTT. I won't even blame the writing for that.

RC must be too smart for his own good and fantastically egotistical. I cannot believe someone commended him for what he did to Elizabeth.

But now Y&R does have Brent Boyd who thinks his writing is the..... One can only hope he gets a shot at another absentee father storyline for the sake of more awesome dialogue.

The lack of ethnic diversity on this show has had me rolling my eyes for years. There hasn't been a Latina on Y&R since Isabella and we know how that turned out (still Eva Longoria made a memorable mark in that role).

A singer, eh, I guess I was hoping for junior executive or something.

I wonder whether she'll be segregated along with the Winters family or will the cast finally integrate the way it was in the 90s.

I was going to say that maybe if she is an executive, she'd be more likely to mingle with all the characters but I've read that Neil's ex, Sophia, is an executive and it didn't do anything for her character's visibility.

Then again, it's a different regime, so perhaps a different trajectory for this character. I guess I should suspend my judgement and just wait and hear.

I didnt mind Dru attacking Carmen bc I couldnt stand her but man did they make her come across REAL ghetto in that scene. Talking crazy and putting a coworker in a headlock at work? How many angry black woman stereotypes were they going for here
