I seem to remember a episode of DW that explained how the characters met. If there was one or one like it can someone tell me what the name of it was??

There was one for The Golden Girls, but I don't remember such an episode for DW.

I dont believe there was one. I like the episode where the girls go on a free shopping spree....lol...hilarious...and anything Delta Burke is awesome.

I don't think there was a meeting episode because the situation was a bit different. Charlene was the common thread among the group. Before working for Julia, Charlene was the secretary for Hayden McElroy, Julia's first husband and the father of her son Payne. When Hayden died, I btelieve Julia kept Charlene on as secretary for the design firm. Charlene and Mary Jo had been neighbors at some point in their past and I believe Charlene introduced Mary Jo to Julia.

Come to think of it, I can't remember "Designing Women" ever doing a clip show episode. Did they? I know the finale featured the "Gone With the Wind" fantasies. I love both GG and DW, but DW was such a different show stylistically from "The Golden Girls." With that said, I think Susan Harris and Linda Bloodworth-Thomason have a way of blending drama into comedy and doing it well.

I don't either. As dc11786 says, Charlene was the one who brought Mary Jo and Julia together. (Suzanne, of course, was Julia's sister.) Occasionally, though, dialogue would allude to these facts (like the time Charlene told Julia that hilarious story about overhearing Mary Jo's former neighbors having sex).
