that's a big down for Days this week. minus a .3 ouch.

OLTL finally gained there in 4th it appears. ATWT, Days and AMC all tied for the no.5 spot isn't bad either.

I'm not. Only the Zack story is worth watching, and it's been crap 90% of the time (IMO). Completely shallow. I've seen more emotion over dead pets and broken fingernails.

Totally disagree with you. We must be watching 2 different shows.

No its not a typical JER pattern-Days and Passions viewership has been steadily increasing with the occasional slip along the way. Both shows were on such a huge upswing that they were bound to drop sooner or later and last week was entertaing but nothing that would draw anyone outside of the normal fanbase.

Days was hovering around 2.5/2.6 throughout the second half of 05. This "huge upswing" happened over a 5 week period from mid-December to mid-January. 3 of these weeks included the accident and its immediate aftermath. This is perfectly consistent with JER's usual pattern. If anything, the only difference is that the initial boost from "shocking event X" has been lower than previous occasions.

Well, most people really only tuned in to see the Zach storyline. I think most can agree that it was a well written and well acted stroryline. But now that the storyline has run its course, the ratings are starting to fall.

It is very alarming to see the ratings for DAYS and PASSIONS drop. With the shows both up for renewal any rating drops can be viewed as serious. Thankfully, I have the Bold and Beautiful which is doing well. I don't know what to think anymore and I've given up trying to figure out the ratings. Only time will tell what will ultimately happen in the next several weeks.

I didn't watch at all last week and have only watched one day this week. So it doesn't surprise me that Days went down so much.

Surprising numbers if you ask me. I watched OLTL everyday last week and although it wasn't bad, I don't understand why it was the only soap to jump... but thats cool. I am surprised DAYS dropped so much.

Days should have waited for Bo and Hope's baby to die during sweeps. It was awesome IMO and they would have won.

IA, I still don't understand why the decided to kill Zach in January and not in february.

Well acted, yes. I don't think it was well written. I think if it were well written they would have been able to keep some of those gains.

IMO, they were banking on keeping some of the ratings gains from Zack's accident. They would then build on this with the paternity revelation hoping to goose the ratings going into March.

I think all the shows got a slight bump last week due to the high numbers on MLK day when a lot of people were at home that normally aren't so the drop this week looks more dramatic than it was.

Yes I agree with this.

Oh well the show had an off week. It was going to happen sooner or later. It doesn't mean the show is [!@#$%^&*],.

1. JER and Corday have run the show into the ground. IA that this is falling right in line with JER's pattern. Big Gimmick = higher ratings for a few weeks - if that. Viewers then see the bad writing on the wall and tune out...again. Eventually, JER's shock and awe will cease to make any gains, but I doubt the show will last that long.

2. Gains? Only in a JER skewed world is it considered 'good' to regain losses after you've run a show to a new low of 2.4 (Third new series low to boot!)

3. I knew you would disagree with me, but I stand by my statement that all the stories are shallow. All of them. It is not a "misevaluation".

Well aren't you optimistic. The show was horrible last year but has not been driven into the ground. Yes the show was at record lows but even with a 2.6 that is an improvement over what it was getting last year. They at least held on to some of what they have gained even though the drop was more then I anticipated. I think everyone knew Days was gonna drop but not this much in one weel. Its ok though-it will go back up for this week and probably next with Hope learning the truth and Zach's funeral. Last week was good but dull compared to what Days has been doing of late. It was more of a week to get the other stories going too since they were back burnered while Zach took center stage.

Totally disagree with you. We must be watching 2 different shows.

I 100% agree with you on this.

Well its not over yet. Hope learned the truth and we still have Zach's funeral and the aftermath

Exactly. The show was gaining it was only a matter of time before it dropped again.
