I doubt that there is any investment in Elizabeth and any man that will take her away from Sam and Jason propping. Ewen will probably be turned into a kidnapping killer or something close.

She could pretty much spend a year locked away in a room and still be accused of lusting after Jason, even if she was supposedly lusting after some other guy at the exact same time. That perception of her is pretty much sealed.

She was juggling various men at that time, she had Matt taking care of her kids and sending them off to see movies, she had Emma asking Patrick if she could be her new mommy, she was petting Jason on the sidelines and she was all over Ewen. She had a full plate then.

As someone looking at the GHverse from the outside, the Liz debates really pique my interest. All the fighting over who she is, what she is, who she should be with, etc.. tells me that Liz connects with the audience in a way others don't/can't/won't.

You've already stated this in the paragraph at the end of the page before this one. You seem to have this perpetual need to defend her from me, if you don't agree with my examples say so and if you must then express why. None of your comments here change or challenges the statements I made where Liz was involved with four men at a time a few months ago.

Honestly I don't think anyone really thought that much about her until they threw her at Jason in recent years. Why Jason triangles generate interest is beyond me. I find him duller than McBain. Her most successful pairing was with Lucky years back and there never appears to be much support for them in recent years.

Rebecca Herbst is a very unique actress (sometimes that's good, sometimes not) and once the writing fell apart for Liz the character became polarizing. I remember the boards back in 2000 and she was extremely polarizing even then.

First of all, I didn't quote you as far as I can tell.

Second, is there some handbook that I missed which states rules that require me to provide you with an explanation if I don't agree with something you've posted? If so, please post the text for me so that any tiime I do want to defend any character in response to anything you've posted, I will be fully aware.

The way I see it, unless I am breaking some board rules, I can post my "generic" defense or of any character I wish.

In fact, I can even "perpetually need" to defend Elizabeth from you or in general at any time.

There have been a couple of times since the character debuted that I haven't liked Elizabeth but at those times, I probably found her more annoying than anything else. I've never hated her. The main problem I've had with the character post ice-Stavros, is the way she's been written. I have a habit of "defending" the character on the basis of the poor writing.

The fact that she's been connected to Jason probably makes her more of a target for some people. I don't know. Her friendship and even tease at attraction with Jason used to be fine but that was when the writing was a lot better. Those days are long gone and it would be great if they'd give Jason some other shoulder to cry on. He should tell all his troubles to his best friend Carly.

    • It does seem cheap and lazy for this show to have just one family. Passions was heavily criticized but it was nicely structured with a total of four families.
    • I think it was definitely a surprising reveal in the storyline. I had a hard time appreciating Evan because I couldn't get behind his interest in Amanda. But that's because I never thought Sandra Ferguson made her a compelling character (although to give her credit she occasionally had decent emotional scenes with Mac or Rachel).
    • I'll even go further... I'll make her re-think BeLief and create a new patent. Brooke needs stuff to do. Anything other than beg or be in her panties. We need her to be creative. But sadly Bradley has a very low opinion of these characters. To him Brooke is nothing more than sex and scandal... or a pathetic doormat. Ridge is nothing more than a chauvinist pig that needs to pit women against each other to feel like A MAN and Steffy is nothing more than her father's guard-dog. I don't even want to open my mouth about Hope. She is such a fiasco in my opinion... I will not suffer if they kill her off. Bradley pooped on her character and now it's too late to fix it. Annika is great and I would hate to see her go, but slutty Hope was not her thing. The vibe was missing.
    • I've seen Jason interact with Mitch and annoy him. That's as far as I recall. I didn't even have a slight idea that Evan had a vendetta against Rachel... That came as a surprise to me. I thought Evan was Iris's dog and that's it. Now he's definitely more interesting.
    • Thanks for these. I can't recall -- did Evan's vendetta have any position on Mitch, or was it all about Rachel? @Maxim have you seen any Frames intreracting with Mitch in any way?
    • Thank you for the tag! It's always a pleasure to see these little pearls of memories.
    • Uh-oh. Today just might’ve been the first Paula/Jeanne stinker. I have a feeling whose fault that might be though. So, Doug III is getting a job at the Pub?  It’s good to see him interact with other characters. I enjoyed his scenes with Roman, even though the talk of Frankie and Max seemed a little random. And it also could be really interesting now that Tate knows. Days really need to start pushing their rivalry again. We need some follow up from the punch. Tying it all to Holly, to Sophia’s pregnancy, to the guys that Doug III owes money to could be good.  But yeah, wayyy too much Leo again in today’s episode. Seriously, has anything changed with this nothing character? I thought it was all Ron’s fault, but maybe Greg Rikaart is (partially) responsible for Leo being so insufferable.  And yeah seriously, Rafe needs to throw all of these people out of his house. Including Gabi

But I do wonder who’s the mysterious voice that Gabi overheard with EJ on the night he was shot. Based on yesterday’s episode, I have a suspicion.
    • Add me to the group of people who think that Brandon has improved. He has. There's no doubt about it. Especially compared to the beginning. And he's improving in a way that... it makes me think that he realizes what the issues are and is addressing them. Of course, he's no master of acting at this point... but I don't cringe as much as I did. And I've seen people in Bold... I won't even have to name names, because everyone knows who they are... who are becoming even worse than what they were offering in the first place. So... I'm happy that in BTG... people are actually blossoming and improving. It surely means that the atmosphere is creative and nurturing talent.  BUT and it's a big butt... his relationship with his husband is still so lacking and ghastly. I am craving to see more action from these guys. I want to see Smitty's character. If he has any.
    • Thank you. You guys come to the rescue again. I'll take a look later.   Thank you for the info!!! Now I find myself less confused. You and @DRW50 are amazing.
    • I know Passions used this trope with Ethan and Sam to drag out the paternity, but GH seems to speed through certain stories while dragging others.
