I'd hardly call "Alice" a "standard-bearer." But, whatever.

Also, I hope these are unedited episodes, and not the ones shown on syndication. I hate when that happens.

I liked the first season the best, before it became too caught up in its own cliches, and was a little rougher. I also liked the last few years, with Jolene.

I loved the later seasons but hopefully there will be more releases.

Id love to see The Jeffersons continue on DVD release too.

That seems to have been remedied in the past few years--I can't think of a set that has doine that in a while.

I liked Vera a lot (although I just love the movie version, just so spacy without needing to be "loveable" or "quirky"). I always preferred Howland, as good as she was on Alice, in her very bitchy MTM turn.

Screw Linda Lavin, the true star of the show for me:

Again, you show that we're related! I love her version of this song. But may I throw a little love towards Madeline Khan?

My uncle met her after Alice had been cancelled in California. He said she was a very nice lady.

Of course you have heard about all the backstage drama because Linda thought she was the star...lol

Linda has a reputation, still, for acting that way.

Marceline, I *love* that performance from the Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. Actually speaking of sitcom stars, (though I guess she was more of a constant guest star), I like Veanne Cox's version of it from the revival, as well.

Did you happen to catch her at The Tonys??

I mean seriously Vera and Flo were the funny ones on the show. Linda's character wasnt suppose to be funny. I hated how she tried to make the Alice character more funny when she wasnt suppose to be in scenes.
