ALL: Soap stars that were also soap fans

James and Kassie DePaiva both grew up watching OLTL with their moms--which could be one thing that helped bring them together as a couple. Jim also said in the OLTL book that his mom watched the whole ABC lineup, which helped her learn English (she's originally from Germany).

One of Fiona Hutchison's "likes" on her Facebook page is DAYS' official FB page.

Melissa Reeves said once that she watched the whole ABC soap lineup in high school.

Kat Hickland said she was a soap fan too, which is why she wanted to act on soaps when she grew up. She said that on her Soapography as well. She didn't state which soaps she watched though.

She watched OLTL for some 20 years before she was Lindsay. Megan's Lupus storyline was her favorite.

Brynn Thayer (Jenny) also watched the show, and was sad when Katherine Glass left, even though she would get her part.

Robert S. Woods used to watch Guiding Light, he mentioned liking Lenore Karsdorf

He was also a DAYS fan, and wanted to be cast on the show as Josh Taylor's brother (I think they were friends in real life at one point).

Miriam Parrish (Jamie on DAYS) watched both DAYS and AW (huh, her husband RKK was on both of those shows, LOL).

Jackie Zeman said she used to watch soaps with her mom, though I can't remember which ones.

Oh, you know, the usual: VALIANT LADY, HAWKINS FALLS, FROM THESE ROOTS. ;)

I have to admit sometimes I feel like this is something people thought they had to say, and I'm not sure whether i buy it, unless they name a specific show.

Ha :) Don't forget THESE ARE MY CHILDREN, which enjoyed a very short but memoral run.

Bob Woods was on Days, and his time on that show crossed with Josh's stint.

For me it depends how they say it like Lisa LoCicero's comments are such that she isn't faking it. Other people you can tell that maybe they heard a show in the background of their home or watched a bit, but they weren't an avid watcher.
