April 28, 201213 yr Member It really is Brooke/Ridge/Taylor all over again. How long have Liam and Hope been an official couple, 2 months?
April 28, 201213 yr Member It's actually worse, as Brooke/Ridge built up for years before the Taylor part started. Then you could buy that Ridge turned to Taylor as something new, a salvation, etc. This just seems forced. I do think SC and JMW have chemistry, but Bill/Steffy is always going to be hovering over that relationship. Edited April 28, 201213 yr by CarlD2
April 28, 201213 yr Member I agree with CarlD2, but the audience demands a much faster paced story. No time for years of angst. Plus as the ratings have proved during the past six months, this story is GOLD. The pill addiction story has been a good twist on the relationship and it's done two things: 1) reached into Hope's backstory about why she was so prim and proper (Brooke) and 2) brought a whole other group of characters into the story (like Amber). On a side note, I'm just so glad that B&B is giving us great remotes, etc. It reminds me of the good old days, when even a show like Edge could go to Switzerland(!) despite it's low ratings.
April 28, 201213 yr Member I see your point, but I thought the Brooke/Ridge/Taylor stuff actually had a good beat early on, with no real stalling. So did Caroline/Ridge/Brooke, although I haven't seen as much of that. I just think no one knows how to write soaps now. With that said, the pill story has been better than I would have expected, and I like that part of the story. I think they would be better off splitting Hope/Liam and pushing her more into stories which can make her stronger.
