Members soapfan770
They didn't even finish up Noah and Eden's story from last summer when Eden popped up in Abby's rehab, and the two shared some horrible secret about what Noah did to Eden in Paris and were hiding it from Noah's new girlfriend Hunter. Then suddenly Hunter disappeared and the whole tale was dropped entirely.
Members ellabelle
There are SO many from AMC's final decade, which I guess says a lot about the show's decline: Julia's return minus Noah. What was the point? She was massively dull with Jamie Jamie - should have been cut loose after he broke up with Babe because he had no real storyline after that. Marissa - never should have existed. It was like they wanted Babe back but without the baggage of the baby swap. Ryan - should have really died when he road that motorcycle off a cliff Greenlee - never should have come back when she fled PV in 2005 after finding out Kendall was having Ryan's baby. The whole Sabine Singh recast was awful as was Greenlee kidnapping Spike and causing his deafness, which was quickly retconned to be a disability that had always been there so as not to completely ruin Greenlee. Aidan - agree with the PP who said once he was dropped from Kendall's sphere he was no longer useful. Del - why? just, why? Di - should have left after Dixie came back Dixie - she should have stayed dead. Both times. Jamal - Dani's cousin, Livia's son, he came back... why? Sydney - Winifred's niece, had some fun squabbles with Colby, but then she had nothing to do. Caleb - Could have possibly worked as a recast Ross Chandler, but he was awful as Caleb, and there was no point to the story. I cringed every time he called Erica "Dorothy." Jack - he had no storyline unless he was involved with Erica, and it would have made sense to cut him loose after 1998 or so. He could have come back for Bianca's rape, and then left again to spare everyone the endless rounds of J&E playing the same story repeatedly. Zach - should have been killed by Alexander Cambias, dying to save Kendall from the Satin Slayer. He sucked the life out of Kendall. Griffin - Liked him with Kendall, but if they weren't going to really go there in terms of a relationship, he was just a method to bring Cara to town and was useless. Amanda - she did nothing but sleep around and cry about it. Leave town and get some therapy!

Members ellabelle
Yes, because if the show is ending, EVERYONE (except for Erica and Jack and JR) must have a happy ending, even if it means bringing people back from the dead in one of the most ridiculous methods possible. I thought Zach sucked the life and the delightful bitchiness from Kendall, and it would have been so much more interesting to me to see her trying to move on with her life, with the possibility of a new romance with Griffin. Members EnglishTea
Babe Carey and her Mama - Amanda Dillon should have been front and center, and in the middle of a triangle with Jamie and JR, and if Bianca and Amanda had given birth together, the history would have been richer, and it would have made sense for Janet to manipulate the situation and prey on an already delicate Amanda's insecurities. It could have been a golden storyline that involved multiple generations with historical characters - instead Babe and KWAK were shoved down viewers' throats while veterans languished in the background. Members Cheap21
People would just be infuriated and complain that they ruined a legacy character like Amanda if they had her keep Bianca's baby the way Babe did.
Members DRW50
I think, given Janet's history of mental illness, it might have made more sense with Amanda. Babe and Krystal felt guilty, but they were in their right minds throughout.
Members Skin
Well the Babyswitch is nearly 8 years old at this point so I think it all sounds good by comparison to what was given. I do think there is some merit to the argument that Babe took Amanda's could have been place on the canvas in terms of her 03-06 tenure but at the same time Amanda was horribly written for no matter who was in office and her character was constantly under minded by characters like Cara, Annie, Babe, Lily/Ava, Greenlee and others. She was basically a younger version of the Di character. Her usefulness stems entirely from her connection to Janet. Amanda just never took off for whatever reason and the sole purpose of her being on the show seemed to be to bring Janet back more then anything concerning her actual character. There was just no value to her regardless of what was done with her. Elizabeth, from GH is another character who ran her course about 1-2 years ago. Members DRW50
I don't think Babe necessarily took Amanda's place - I think Babe was initially a good concept for a character and I think that she worked well initially as an outsider. I do think that the baby story would have worked better with Amanda, just based on history. I also think that Babe didn't necessarily need a baby to tie her down to the canvas, whereas a baby might have helped give Amanda more story than floating from man to man who treated her like a whore. Members JackPeyton
How so? Granted, the awful writing has done her much harm, likely more than most long term characters, but she is one of the few people on GH who actually belongs on GH in the role they are in. Beyond being a webber, and a nurse, she is an essential character every soap needs: a character that can float between lead, supporting, and background as needed. Plus, all of her pairings take off and are popular, even her least liked pairing with Nikolas had fans and was a good story until she was thrown under the bud and ran over for JJLucky. She is the kind of character I tune into for soaps. She can be good, she can be bad, she can be major or minor. This is the best her character has been in well over 5 years, so thats nice.
