Mary Beth Evans and Stephen Nichols were paired up on both DAYS and GH. I remember my mom actually trying to watch GH during that time for that reason but she couldn't get into it.

Kirsten Storms and Jason Cook on DAYS and GH. I actually like the Matt/Maxie pairing better with Jen Lilley now.

AMC/GL: RPG and Beth Ehlers. Now that was a disaster

SB/GH: Lane Davies and NLG. I guess that could be considered a mild success but not really as GH never tried to really develop them as a couple. Their characters certainly did have potential so I guess its an accomplsihment that they werent a failure

Jacquie Courtney/George Reinholt: AW/OLTL... I think this was moderately successful, at least at first, right? They wanted Robin Strasser as Cathy to have the whole trio reunited, but Robin didn't want to be a recast. She was wise to wait.

AMC/Loving&TC: Debbi Morgan/Darnell Williams-Angie remained, but Darnell was now lookalike cousin Jacob who really was different than Jesse. Loving was the show that nobody watched, but they did well on there. In a perfect world, Jacob would be in Europe with Lorraine.

Marj Dusay and Vincent Irizarry had great mother/son chemistry on both GL [Alex/Nick] and AMC [Vanessa/David], though I'm sure most GL fans would say that VI's years as both Lujack and Nick with Beverlee McKinsey were greater.

I thought of them but didnt think it technicaly counted as Debbie was playing the same role and the fact that he looked like Jesse played heavily into why their connection was still there. It should be interesting to see if Y&R goes there with their new characters and if they work or not

I think I saw that movie. I remember him having a fake accent.

Again, sorta OT but decades ABC did those 'What If's' they would mix and match actors and actresses from different soaps on the Loveboat. Someone posted the one with Susan Lucci and Tristan Rogers on youtube.

    • wow what a fabulous interview. seems like they really know what they're doing! I need to catch up on the next ep!
    • Also feel strange that JFP wouldn't want to take credit for any work she's potentially doing. Wouldn't that be breaking some union rules as well?
    • Where's the credible source that JFP is back?
    • I remember Phyllis' place when she was with Billy -- there was a lot of (fake) concrete on that set, and I remember her living in a place that had a lot of red and white.
    • The only time Phyllis had a home in recent years was when she lived at the cottage house (Victoria's now home), the Abbott mansion, Nick's now-gone home, or the two temporary apartments she had. Otherwise, she's houseless.

    • The restaurant and coffee shop hopping is what bothers me, too. I absolutely hate it. Yes, the new sets are great. The Newman ranch, the Abbott mansion, Billy's house -- they're all classy and great. I appreciated The Crimson Lights update a few years ago, and the remodel of Sharon's tack house where Victoria lives is nicely done. However, because of limitations on what's permanently standing and what needs to be assembled when used, the sets problem is still a mess. We get Jack's office and that hallway into his office for a couple days, and that's it. That means any Jabot business talk is conducted at a bar, restaurant or coffee shop. It's nuts that Devon's office is no longer used. Lily? She sits down at either Society or the GCAC every damn day. Billy's starting this new, dynamic company -- no office. Phyllis? No home, no work space. She runs from restaurant to coffee shop. And no, throwing in that Chancellor Park set as a meeting place for EVERYONE who goes to the park isn't enough. When you have SO many characters discussing business (also a huge problem) it's a huge error to have only one business locale up at a time.  Comparing Y&R to DAYS does not work. We all know DAYS has no budget. We know that Y&R has been #1 for DECADES and SHOULD have a budget. We deserve better. Is the GH budget that much bigger than Y&R's? Because they manage an enormous cast and a buttload of sets just fine. GH doesn't look like a show that's penny-pinching. And then when Y&R spends money on a new set, it becomes a storyline, which is a joke. We hear about it for weeks on end. When has this ever happened on a soap? When should this ever happen? Compounding all this sets mess? The writing on Y&R is ABYSMAL. It has never been worse. I have never been so bored with this show in my entire life. B&B is trash, but Y&R is worse -- it's boring trash.
    • If I recall, they moved a wall that cut the living room from the kitchen off, and it is now more open. Either way, or the wall by the staircase, because you could always see that smell kitchen. IIRC, he's still living in the house he had during Mal Young's regime that got quickly nixed.
    • Vault is temporarily down - I'll get it back up within a few hours.
