Darnell Williams' new character

He airs February 20th, he's there to help Jack who is paralyzed after being shot by a wacko at his own wedding. DW has a two year deal.

Darnell Williams' character will be a physical therapist called "Sarge" DW says he is an ex marine drill sergeant who bullies his patients into getting better. He says there's something big lurking beneath the surface and layers will be chipped away to find out what it is.

He said he doesn't know Sarge's real name, but he's an as*hole

TVG says Jack is too sometimes, will this be a good match, DW replies that at first Jack sees Sarge berating one of his disabled clients at the hospital & confronts him, by the end of the day he asks Sarge to be his therapist, he knows he needs that kind of prodding.

TVG asks if lightning will strike twice for Debbi & Darnell now that's she on Y&R as well, or will it be a mistake to try and recapture that magic. DW says he asked about that and was told that wasn't why he was hired, they want to stay away from that, although they might tease it a little. He hopes they'll keep them apart for awhile. He loves Debbi, but it seems to easy to go that route

In all fairness it's not a given that they would have chem. Has there ever been a situation where a couple moves to a new soap and is successful as a new couple. But I don't believe for one second they won't be tested. It's a shame with Debbi who actually seemed to have chem with SN that Y&R will never go there.

AMC did the same thing years ago after Adam was paralyzed from a stroke. They had tough ex-marine Cal Cummings, played by Count Stovall, come on to whip Adam into shape. Ironically, Cal was brought on for a love interest for Angie. Around this time, Debbi left and was replaced by Saunda Quartermain and the story never really took off. Has MAB stooped so low as to watching 20+ year-old AMC to get story ideas? LOL
