I completely agree. I don't t care if they fire every GH star and move every character from Llanview over. It would be an improvement. I don't know what everyone else is talking about. The show on the air currently is NOT, I repeat NOT, General Hospital. So an influx of likable characters is the least of my worries.

I don't think GH could be rebuilt. Soaps aren't attracted new viewers. It's a fact - they're not. And old viewers are gone. They're not coming back, except maybe for the finale. GH has used, abused and strung along it's fans for the last decade. The longtime fans who are largely the desired demo are gone. They didn't want to watch the Sonny/Carly/Jason show and after watching history being re-written, their favorite characters being killed, and all sense of GH being removed from GH - they're done. Why would they come back to a show that has made it clear that their opinion doesn't matter for so long? How many times has GH claimed they're telling some groundbreaking story or that the Quartermaines are "back! because they're the cornerstone!" It's never been true before, and those scorned viewers have no reason to think it ever will be. They left, and they're done. So, the show isn't going to draw in new viewers on it's own, or through "rebuilding" - so why not try to get viewers that are attached to another show? It really is the last ditch effort, and all that they have left IMO.

Yeah I agree. As soon as GH announced that they were writing off Lucky and Robin this show died. It's sad but its the truth. This show has no purpose and no likable characters. There is no anchor or history to this show anymore and GH in it's current incarnation can't be saved. I'm looking at the cast and there is not one person who could save this show. They killed all the Quartermains, they destroyed the Spencers. There is no one left. Just Sonny and all of his problems and that's not a show or at least it's not a show that I can imagine anyone would want to watch.

I don't think writing Lucky out made a big difference. The only reason anyone cared about JJ was based on his work 15 years ago, not today. Lucky was destroyed long ago.

Nothing can save GH, most likely, but I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to revive the Hardys. Most of all the show needs a warm family community feel again. Unfortunately I doubt that will happen.

I definitely think writing off both Lucky and Robin was/is a sign. Just like when the show killed off Emily and Georgie years back. GH was never really the same after those two deaths. The reason why I pointed out Lucky was because he was a character who could have changed or at least revitalized the show if writers were really concerned about changing the scope of GH. Lucky was definitely a character who could have helped GH out of it's mob based mentality and centralized formula. But they dismissed him and they are doing the same with Robin another legacy character the show could have used to help them break out of Sonnyville but they chose to dismiss her. There's no one on this show that means anything at this rate. Tracey and Monica are neutralized because their entire family is dead. Maxie is an island, Mac is irrelevant. There is just literally nothing this show could offer a viewer. The mob needs to be brought down and this entire show needs to be burnt to the ground, salted and then purged of anything related to that terrible threesome.

    • lol Cass and Donna went on a bowling date!
    • As well as insulting our host, being rude to members who correct you, and having an inflated sense of duty. While others may be able to add numerous offenses, the egocentrism to force any conversation off-topic to focus on you is the most egregious act for me.  This is light entertainment, an interactive discussion, not the shallotpeel-hour.
    • Yes, that is why. I mean, not last minute but it was not what Shapiro originally wanted. First, she tried to buy the show. Then she tried to buy the character. Meanwhile several other companies also tried to buy the show.
    • I thought I had stopped & then I saw this post from you. To be clear I said I was wrong. I have not made an attempt at any backpedaling. There is literally no place to back pedal to. I did 3 things. I deleted. i apologized. I said I was wrong, egregiously so.
    • I think bringing Dano back to OLTL as her original character Gretel/Rae was a last minute thing because P & G wouldn't let ABC use the Felicia character. So even though she had ties to OLTL from back in the day, she just didn't fit into the OLTL of the late 90s/early 00s.. nor did she really fit into the other soaps at ABC either.
    • I don't think they were the biggest factor, but I do think there's a specific style to Dano's work that wasn't helped by how pointless her character often felt (and later on the various writers clearly saw the character as a joke).
    • I think Evie came in mid 1976 after Rita broke up with Tim because she realized she was leading him on.  And Evie became upset with Rita because she didn't tell her that she had previously dated Tim before she came to town.
    • Please stop, you were wrong, and you know it, now you're trying to back pedal. You even got called out by the DAYS actors/actresses on Twitter for that sh*t. It was disgusting and vile and IMO the family should have taken action against you It was clear the general public did not know about his illness and it was NOT your place to "spill the beans" just because you run a Facebook group, period! TBH IMO @Errol should have banned you ages ago Donna
    • Who went bowling? JFP & Anna? Is there any more to this?
    • Another character driven show with interconnecting plots that make sense. I like that we go from one character, like Sarah, learning that EJ wants to buy the hospital, casually mentioning it to Xander who now has that intel. The only down today was not seeing Steve and Shawn breaking into the lab. I wonder if Dr Poofy Hair will inform EJ about Xander's call. I loved Abe talking to Chanel about losing Isaac and giving her comfort. And helping her voice her fears about Johnny. Kayla standing up to EJ is great. Kayla, freed from Ron, has been great. I am loving all her air time. And Sarah telling her that EJ must be up to something if he wants the hospital is very smart. She would probably clue in to the sepsis research being the big thing if she wasn't choking to death. I assume Felicity messed up the scones and dropped in cleaning fluid or something. Sarah said it tasted weird. They are never getting that honeymoon, are they? Xander has no clue what job Johnny can do. Johnny knows this too. Xander wants to legitimize his takeover by hiring a Dimera. Johnny wants to stick it to EJ. The honesty is refreshing. I want to like Cat and Chad but they are just so awkward. And none of their scenes work for me. Marlena and EJ was very good. I like her wanting to help him but also scared to death for Belle. Makes perfect sense that she is conflicted. I also liked her softly asking Johnny if he needed her to stay once EJ walked in. Ron never cared about this relationship either, but now she is acting like his granny.
