Susan, you are NOT the next Horton matriarch. Suzanne Rogers already has that job and she's doing it beautifully.

There's something smug about Susan Seaforth Hayes, sometime very entitled about her, that I have never liked.

Good that she admitted to her plastic surgery in that last question. She does look good, though the hair's a disaster.

I do think there's a place for Doug and Julie - Julie is such an interesting character, you could put her in a lot of places. They have a real spark. It's always a little weird for me when I watch because Hope seems like such a depressed character, compared to Doug, or most of the Hortons.

I agree with her reasons for daytime's decline. I did have to laugh at Logan sort of trying to bait her into talking about Y&R. Since they still employ her every so often I doubt that will happen.

You can hear that while his voice may have been too bland to really make it as a singing star, he does have a pleasant voice. He would have been sort of a Steve Lawrence type singer, but he didn't have an Edye Gorme to carry his act. Still, no doubt he will always be the nicest singer in just about any group of random people.

I definitely think SSH could do more, but based on her recent work on Y&R. She showed over there that she can still have a strong presence and be a big draw. I actually wish she WAS on contract or heavily recurring on Y&R. Would've been smart once Michael and Lauren became so popular. Of course that has all be ruined now and there is no telling if either of those characters are still a huge draw. But she was a good addition to the dynamic in that family.

I think it would be best that Julie & Doug takes the spot of Tom & Alice, because they are the first true supercouple that the show seem to forget about. Suzanne Rogers is doing a good job, but its always room for more Vets, and Susan's Julie is a Horton by blood.

How did you get Plastic Surgery out of the last sentence?

First of all, I don't think there's always room for more vets, as much as I love them (and I am NOT a Julie Williams hater, I actually love the character, it's SSH I'm not fond of)...DAYS is better than most with its vets, but even Suzanne Rogers has only had a renaissance in the last couple years. If Julie Williams is on canvas, she should be Sami's mentor and sounding board, she's been great when she's been given that role.

The problem with SSH is that she's a well known bitch on the DAYS set, she's even admitted that and in the production model they have now, there's no time for bitches who get demanding. She's still at it, look how she's demanded a meeting with the writers!

And I got plastic surgery out of the last sentence because SSH said that she and her doctor thank Logan for the compliment that she looks good.

One thing I think Doug and Julie add is some life - sometimes when I watch DAYS, it seems so very drab. I thought Vivian's return would help with that, but the show had no idea where to take her. So it's left to Kate, Maggie, VIctor, Stefano, sometimes Nicole, and that's about it. It would be nice to see a little bit of fun. I don't mean histrionics, just some variety.

I'm always for more Doug and Julie. I mean, their characters and their whole vibe are just nuts. The singing, the crazy [!@#$%^&*] they come up with. No one left in that age group on daytime today is like that. They could do a lot more. People forget they were DAYS back in the day, Julie on that couch pining for Doug - they were Sonny and Brenda, Luke and Laura, Holden and Lily. They deserve a bigger spot than they have on the canvas.

    • Keith still comes off younger to me. I thought he wasn't that bad for his first day.
    • To be fair, they were only recently step-siblings.  Their parents married within the past few years.  And, Draper's father Ansel was not coy about the fact that he married Raven's mother, Nadine, for the money. And, Raven's sort of sticking it to April that not only can she have a baby (April has a heart condition that makes it difficult for her to carry a child to term), she could also have April's man, if she wanted him.
    • Keith D Robinson is 49. Maurice Johnson is 46.
    • I hope they give him more to do than just be a prick as you say. I can see how viewers would like him because the actor is so charming despite the character being such an absolute pain.    I would agree. And there was also the undercurrent of Raven and Draper sort of flirting with each other. The actors play that attraction and it worked so well in that scene.
    • Daniel Cosgrove is PERFECT as the sleezy politician. This might be my favorite role of his. All of these people keeping Kristina’s secret is so annoying. I really want her to pay.
    • What did happen to Beth between 86 and 89? Did she have amnesia?
    • I actually thought he came off as younger. It's so hard to buy Martin as Nicole and Ted's son unless they had him when they were 12.
    • @chrisml Isn't remarkable that, on a soap whose brand is built on twists and mysteries, that Raven's last straw was as simple as Logan saying that she was incapable of loving Jamey.  In the episode when Raven exit's and leaves Jamey with April, I can remember feeling the subtext that Raven is also trying to talk herself into leaving him behind.  There's so much in that little scene.  She's trying to stick it to Logan for saying she was a bad mother.  She's both granting April's wish, and damning her with the old adage of being careful what she wished for.  And, she's hinting to Draper that she's going to boff his father. It remains my favorite scene, and it still blows my mind that was not the end of that episode.
    • Oh lord not Drew just figured out it was both Nina and Portia that set him up. Willow WILL never leave this man. Ric taking the case purely just to spite Sonny is [!@#$%^&*].ing hilarious.
    • And in addition to Patti being de-aged, she was no longer a nurse, divorced from Len(fair enough) and her two children were not seen and barely mentioned. So basically she was a totally new character. For newer viewers it didn't matter but any loyal viewers would have been wondering about all the changes with Patti. Sarah Whiting always puzzled me. The writers finally decide to acknowledge Jo's family and do so by making up a never mentioned adopted teen. Why not just bring in Tracey, Jo's actual grandaughter? As for Liza, perhaps it would have been wise to rest the character when Sherry left. They were big shoes to fill and her Liza was so identified with Travis. I don't recall what was going on in the story at that time but if they knew Sherry was leaving, write it so Liza would leave town to care for an ailing Janet and take a breather with the character for a few months.
