I think I was alright with them solely because they knew it was all jokes and they never took themselves at all seriously. If they had, I'd think they were the crappiest [!@#$%^&*] on Earth.

HOW DARE YOU! You obviously hate feeling happy and loved. happy.png

On another note, I totally met them when they did the whole mall tour thing. Not ashamed AT ALL.

LOL it's just the dumbing down of America, otherwise how do we explain the popularity of crap like Jersey shore and Real Housewives ;)

LOL, of course I don't. I was 12 when they were big, and obviously got something out of it at the time and listened to them. I'm not ashamed that as a 12 yr old I was digging them. I'd be ashamed though if now, as a 26 year old, I still appreciated them :P

I'm 24 and I appreciate them (for what they are, a giant ball of campy stupidity)...what are you implying about me? blink.png

Whatever I am implying is tongue and cheek at its heart. Relax. Music like all forms of "art" and I use that term loosely here, is subjective. If you enjoy them, that's awesome!

I could just never imagine being ashamed of loving something. I was a bigger music snob as a child than I am now, believe it or not. I'm sorry, after years of having to defend my taste in pretty much everything, it's hard to stop ph34r.png

Maybe ashamed was the wrong word to use, no you should never be ashamed of a positive or negative feeling towards something you feel strongly about, of course not.

I dunno, they have a UK version called Geordie shores. I lived in the country and that town, there is reason why the people there love it. And it's the same reason we (not me) love Jersey Shore.

:hides: I have Lene's solo album :hides: (though to my credit I'm not sure I played it much--I saw it in the import budget bin 10 or so years back and couldn't resist).

I like cheesy euro pop/dance but Aqua were always a bit too cheese for even me, though as Beebs said I appreciate that they never took themselvs seriously. They did attempt a comeback (in Europe) a few years back with Back in the 80s but it flopped, I guess now they're fully going for the camp/gay crowd by singing a slightly dirty song.

Easy, its called entertainment. That is the goal of a TV show, thats what those shows do.
