OLTL: Discussion for the week of September 12th

I think the show tended to go back and forth about TSJ Todd and the kids. When he became obsessed with Marty, it was written as him being fine with leaving all his kids behind for a new life. Initially, Jack was hurt by this. Suddenly, when it was time to turn Todd into a great guy again, Jack magically accepted Todd, and hated everyone else (aside from Tea, since he thought she was hot).

I don't know why they had Viki deliver the eulogy. It would have been more honest if she'd declined to attend. He left both her daughters to die and laughed when he learned what Ford had done to Jessica. The only time the show wrote them as close was when Viki was talking about Todd/Tea.

(I'm not saying RH Todd was a better brother or father - I am mostly just talking about TSJ Todd).

I don't know what period you weren't watching but TSJ's Todd helped save Jessica from Mitch and he also brought heart patient Viki to the hospital, too. This is why Viki and TSJ's Todd were quite close during the execution story.

Also, last year TSJ's Todd was quite worried about Mitch grabbing Jessica, as he hired PIs to find them and came to hold Viki's hand during that crisis.

I understand why Viki felt moved to say he could have a tender heart but noted his quick temper and irrationality too.

What I can't fathom is why Viki didn't detail for RH's Todd all the times TSJ's Todd was there for her the last 8 years. And I can't fathom why Viki didn't toss into RH's Todd he was in no place to talk since he kidnapped Natalie to allow cut her heart out. She seems to have had a memory wipe there.

I do remember TSJ Todd caring about Jessica in earlier years, but in recent years it's been few and far between. The show distanced Todd from those characters. They even tried to have Jessica say well she had a bad feeling about him, he was never really Todd to her, when RH Todd came back.

It all just seems half-hearted to me. I don't think anyone at OLTL in the last few years cared very much about these relationships, but they still want the characters to be a part of the funeral.

LOL Cheap, it was very few and very far between, not enough to justify them trying to make Victor a saint. Once Dani came into his life he didn't give two craps about Starr, Jack or Sam.

who's making him out into a saint? The man is dead. Today of all days is not hte time to start bringing up all the awful things he has done out of respect and consideration for each other. Besides you've had Starr do just that since he died. His kids are in pain, sad and are still in the grieving stages. It only makes sense that they'd focus on the positive and reflect on the good, loving times and there were plenty of those

I didn't realize at the funeral for a character, his loved ones were supposed to sit around bashing him. I guess that's what dragonflies wanted?

I'm just now watching and Tea's already killing me. It really was funny and kinda cute watching AT try to channel TSJTodd in that opening scene.

Yet it was only last year that TSJ's Todd couldn't sleep he was so worried about Jessica in Mitch's clutches so he sought out Viki.

Jessica never had any bad feeling about him before so it's just another RC's rewrite... much like wiping Viki's brain of all TSJ's Todd did for her and all RH's Todd did to hurt her and her family.

This whole murder and funeral was half-hearted and rushed. I don't think anyone at OLTL cares one whit about TSJ's Todd and it shows dailiy.

It's become very odd to read TSJ's Todd is being canonized when onscreen daily we hear RH's Todd is the gentle, nicer twin who never did anything wrong... except rape Marty.

Florencia has been KILLING this story. She won SOW Performer of the Week for the death scenes... so glad to read all the critical acclaim for her.

I don't think AT is trying to channel TSJ's Todd... I think he's trying to channel frat boy #1 and has been since the school gym bullying scenes.

THAT was the eulogy? What a load of horse [!@#$%^&*]. I felt not a damn thing and usually Slezak can sell anything. Wow. Totally let down and not even a single flashback.

Obviously that was Todd at the end. I could see RH's highlights.

I thought I missed some segments bc they went to the burial site rather quick. I knew I shouldnt have expected much from this "memorial"

In-between his being fine with her madness and being amused when he thought she'd been taken advantage of by Ford. That's one of the reasons I think they should have just left these characters out. They did a terrible job with Todd's relationships with Viki or her kids.

Victor is that you? No it's our brand new real Todd, played by Roger Howarth.

How anyone on earth could mistake Todd as Victor from behind is...puzzling. Don't know why the show didn't pull a "Stacey" and let the final visitor to the funeral remain a mystery.

Exactly. They could have pulled a GH and just stopped having him on-screen with no explanation.
