Paul Raven, thanks so much for those magazine covers. I've never seen them before. It's kind of fun to see that Steve, Audrey and Jessie were "cover" material once upon a time.

And that was a classic scene between Monica and Lesley. Monica was such a b#tch! LOL! LC and DA worked well together. Thanks for sharing.

I've always said that I want to see a new man swoop in and knock Monica off of her feet....Only to cheat on her...With Lesley! It would be such a nice play on the original triangle of Lesley/Rick/Monica.

Monica WAS a bitch, and I loved it. Denise Alexander is such a fantastic actress. I can't believe nobody is utilizing her right now. I'd probably rank her as the strongest GH actress of all time, even.

Sadly, I spent the first eighteen years of my life being a non-soap viewer. (Since none of my friends or family liked soaps, I never tried watching them; it wasn't until I went off to college in 1998--and got hooked on the soon-to-be-cancelled AW--that I fell in love with soaps.) Nevertheless, I have done an extensive amount of viewing of vintage clips and other research to the point where I know quite a bit about the golden eras of ATWT, AW, and GL.

While I know far less about GH's history (compared to the above P&G soaps), it has always been my impression that Alan and Monica have been such a crucial tentpole couple for this soap (much in the same way as Bob and Kim Hughes). And although this happened only a couple of years ago, I view the decision of killing off Alan--during a "sweeps" month stunt--to have been such a dagger in the heart to the very core of GH. I would not be surprised if this decision played a big role in the huge ratings freefall GH experienced over the last few years.

You're absolutely right. Monica and Alan were such a real, gritty, everyday couple. Yes, they were extremely rich, but they didn't front. They didn't stay together because of money or children. They were upfront with each other. There was fighting, betrayal, anger, etc. But through it all, they came back to one another and had that true bond that so many can relate with.

I love that Cheap!! Thank you so much. I have two questions:

Where can i find that video of Tracy and Monica fighting in the fountain? It's one of my all time favorite GH scenes and I can never find it.

Also, who was Skye waving goodbye to in that scene where she's being ushered out the door? I can't remember.

    • I'm furious that hack new producer is bringing back the wrong Ben Mitchell. Just bring back Harry Reid for goodness sake. Pleased about Zoe.
    • I've said it before, and I'll say it again (and again): CBS should have extended Angela Lansbury the courtesy of going out on HER terms, not theirs.  The network, Universal and Corymore all should've sat down together before the start of the last season and discussed how to ensure that MSW would go out with a bang.  Leave it on Sunday nights, of course, but really pull out some stops: big name guest stars (Frank Sinatra and Elizabeth Taylor immediately spring to mind), more on-location/international shoots, maybe convince Peter S. Fischer and William Link to return as consultants, you name it.  But give her and the show the dignity they were due. I do, too, but that's why I love her so much.  She had every right to call him and the rest of the network out, but didn't, because she was simply too classy to do that.  God bless her.
    • Its not right or safe but I notice I dont always lock my doors either   BTW, I only see that happening in Dani's house, and I assume her kids have the key.  Othr than that we've seen Dani just walk into Bill's house but that's been an actual plotpoint

And I’d love to see that beautiful smile a lot more There’s just one problem… that should’ve been sent packing with Uncle Ron
    • Yet another reason some of the characters need servants.  Since some of the sets do not include front doors, servants could answer the off-screen door and escort guests into the living room(s).
    • I remember them showing a map of Michigan during one of Rachel's adventures, and you are probably correct here.  But the map may have been used in 1978, when Sven kidnapped Rachel and characters were searching for her. They had no idea Sven had hidden her right there on the Cory estate.  So that's just another possible sighting of the infamous map.
    • The one thing that drives me nuts about this show is that all these wealthy people never lock their doors and everyone just walks in without even knocking.  I live out in the boonies with no neighbors close by, but I always have my doors locked day or night!
