Members DRW50
It wasn't for long. I guess he was one of the former soap names they threw at Emma Samms to try to make her comeback work (Randolph Mantooth was another). Members amybrickwallace
Ahhhh, back in the days when the show was still decent!!!
Members quartermainefan
This was the period when the destruction of the Q seeds were planted. I hate the characterization here. Ned is a pompous jerk who looks down on his family. The writing is bent to make Edward automatically in the wrong, and everyone starts getting reason to not want to be a Q. Ned, Lois, Jason, Emily, Justus, Dillon...all useless. That said at least they were alive.
Members amybrickwallace
Exactly. Alan and Monica TODAY should be the show's tentpole couple. I'll leave it at that before I get on a long tangent full of rage.
Members DRW50
Guza hated the family and you could tell. I didn't care very much for that era, I was mostly posting for those who did. Generally if I see Ned I skip it.
Members Khan
I feel like no one really cared for the Quartermaines except Douglas Marland.
Members amybrickwallace
Do you think Wendy Riche did? Obviously, the writers did, giving the Qs lots of snarky dialogue.
Members Khan
[!@#$%^&*]. Forgot about Wendy Riche. So, that's two people who cared for the Q's. Okay, three (Claire Labine).
Members DRW50
I think Labine mostly just cared about the "good" Quartermaines, which, along with the constant loudmouth shaming sessions from Lois, allowed Guza to have more room to destabilize them in the mid/late 90's. Which Riche did nothing to stop.
Members amybrickwallace
I think Rena Sofer was the one who said it best: "The Quartermaines put the 'fun' in dysfunctional." Even though my family is nowhere near as dysfunctional (or wealthy!!) as the Qs, we certainly have had our moments!! LOL

Members amybrickwallace
What a great cover photo - and an interesting article. Too bad they won't give Denise Alexander anything to do today.
Members Khan
The headline on the cover is a trifle misleading, though. It makes it sound as if Denise Alexander and John Beradino were 1) together, and 2) new parents.
Members ghfan89
The family aspect of GH wasn't as prevalent on GH after Marland left. I think I read somewhere that Gloria Monty didn't care for the family aspect of soaps.
