Daytime TV gives ratings for the first two weeks of July 1971. They just gave percentages at this time.

Thanks so much Carl for sharing these. I love seeing the ratings from these times. They really do fluctuate a lot too, but when you actually had a lot of soaps on doing their best, I suppose I can understand that because there are so many I would be watching myself.

Variety May 1970

ABC averages a 19 share for the hour and a half from 11 a.m.At 12: 30,, CBS' soaper block takes over as "Search for Tomorrow" pulls a 43 share to the "Who, What, Where Game's" 28.CBS wins until 3: 30, when "Another World-Bay City," takes a 33 share to CBS' 29share for "Secret Storm."

SEARCH was doing so well for the networks to allow the show to tank the way it did. It's quiet sad for such a wonderful show to be mishandled.

Thanks for the 1970 numbers.

Search for Tomorrow was still doing fairly well when CBS killed it. It could have been saved. I guess CBS just wanted it gone. What a waste.

I never knew it did that well. I think the show was on its last legs in primetime by this point (was it even in new episodes by this time?).
