Members DAMfan
The Grass Roots set a record for being on the Billboard charts 307 straight weeks. They are one of nine bands that charted twenty nine or more Top 100 Billboard singles and went on to sell over twenty million records worldwide. Another interesting fact is they hold the all time attendance record for a US concert with 600,000 people converging on Washington, D.C on July 4th, 1982. After the concert, bands were barred from playing in Washington in the same venue because of the message they were sending to young people and a change in morals. The Grass Roots went on to appear in over 50 national television shows. Many of their hits are still playing on radio stations to this day. They charted one platinum album, two gold albums, thirteen gold singles and charted singles a total of twenty nine times.
Members alphanguy74
That medley from the Ed sullivan show is one of the best performances anywhere. I saw Rob twice in concert, once in 1986, and again in 1989. He never sounded the same as he did in the 70's... but he was entertaining and treid very hard. I think Dennis Provisor with his adlibs really added alot when he joined the group in 1969, and of course, I think Warren Entner is one of the most beautiful men that ever walked the earth. I like most all of Grass Roots singles, they ahd so many good ones, and some later ones that were really great, that weren't as successful: Please register in order to view this content

Members quartermainefan
It's so hard to look at these people from the 60s with their youth and hippie hair and realize they are either seniors now or dead.

Members DAMfan
Midnight Confessions - Grass Roots So can anyone remember being shocked, when you realized that Midnight Confessions, was about a guy being in love with a married woman - had one of the most memorable lyrics of the 60s. But a little gold ring you wear on your hand Makes me understand There's another before me, you'll never be mine I'm wasting my time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nZnqtDdsws&feature=context-gah
