Great news for all fans. Bold is being released once again on DVD in Germany. Box 11 and 12 now contain each 50 episodes, instead of the regular Box 1-10, which had 25 episodes in a box. Box 11 and 12 have episodes 251-300 and 300-350.

The release is on October 4th and that means fans can own the first 350 episodes. A little birdie told me that they plan to release 10 more boxes or the next 500 episodes on DVD.

The DVDs will have both English and German audio. They are continuing from 250, where it ended years ago.

Yeah I'm kind of shocked because DVD is becoming obsolete and it's a one time purchase vs having to pay monthly for streaming and hasn't it been like a decade since the first release?? I feel like it's a great sign that the Bells are still working these deals and there's still interest. It shows that putting the show on YT for free has actually not hurt them. Perhaps German fans were interested in the streaming episodes and they determined there was a market for the dubbed version. Soap fans skew older and may be less likely to be fluent in English.

Wow - that is an unexpected surprise....

release is October 4! Seems they skipped the "bonus materials" from previous releases but instead lowered the price for this a bit

I have had contact with "Fernsehjuwelen" too. They also want to release 4 Boxes with each 45 episodes. These four Boxes should cover the episodes 7800-7979 that aired 2 years ago on PayTV.

I asked them about German/english episodes from Y&R, DAYS and General Hospital. They said, that there arent any plans and they dont know in which archive these shows would be.

I hope that they will be really successful. My dream is, they sell licenses to RTL or another streaming provider. So i hope one day we will see episodes 1700-1800 in german language

And....i noticed this on the boldandbeautiful Channel on YouTube:

I checked the playlists and couldnt find any "new" Videos or changes.

We know, that in season 3 episode 678 was missing (Duplicate of 677) and in season 7 episode 1665 was missing too.

I also know that the interest for Restless in Europe is just... not at the level that will warrant a release, sadly. But it's such a great project for Bold - to have all of this officially released in pristine DVD quality with both English and German (my husband often prefers to watch in German) is just a miracle.

Just 15 years ago I remember a user uploading Bold from episode 1 in youtube - in the platform's early early Chris Crocker Leave Britney Alone days... and the quality was... like the tape had burned in a house fire and then recovered. And it was ENOUGH for me, I was so happy and so glad to have a glimpse into the early days. Sadly that profile got deleted decades ago, but the dream of seeing Bold from day 1 didn't.

Now... everything is online, in much much better, some would even say great quality. I never knew I would live to see this day, seriously!

Ah, thanks @rsclassicfanforever for asking about the other shows even if the news is disappointing!

B&B certainly is the perfect show for this sort of release... only 30 minutes, less than 4 decades

and with great narrative continuity where a current viewer could watch day 1 and perfectly understand what's going on and even recognize some of the sets! (But, I'm not sure what a viewer from 1987 would think of today's show :D)
