I don't remember Robin's original run, but as for her second and third runs, she was NEVER written for better than she was during this era. Such a fascinating and sophisticated woman with so many secrets and such hurt that she carried so elegantly.

I dont recall that Christine character. How long was she on the show for? It does seem weird that that dark haired woman was trying to pass herself off as Meagan and Viki's child considering none of her daughters have had dark hair. Was she genuine about her feelings for Viki or was that a lie? Why did Michael and Gabrielle do that to Viki? It definetly adds fuel to the fire for why Viki hated Gabrielle. Did their role in this ever come out? If so, how did Tina respond?

Christine was on the show for about a year, I think.

Essentially, Christine grew up with only her father, Leo, who was, to her, some type of loveable rogue with some baggage, an adventurer. Over time, he became a drunk, and a failure. Michael Grande lured him in with the great promise of Eterna, a great place to unearth and explore, and money, and so on. When Viki began remembering things, she went to New York with Renee and went to the places Niki had hung out while pregnant with Megan. Leo convinced her that he was the man she was with in those months, and then Victor separated them and made him leave with the baby, Christine. Christine had no idea about any of this, and Leo tried to get Viki to agree to never let Christine know the "truth." Viki blurted it out to her when Christine was seriously ill in the hospital. She only found out about the lie soon before Viki did.

Michael wanted to unlock Viki's memories because he wanted to get into Eterna. She'd had a teenage love with Roger Gordon, who'd lived in Eterna. I'm not sure if Michael knew about all that or not. Gabrielle went along with him for money and power.

I don't know what reaction Tina had to learning about this.

It was kind of sad to see how angry Bo was at Viki being used that way - I haven't sensed a lot of affection between Bo and Viki or her family in quite a while.

    • Overall I was impressed with this week and fall out from the revealation.  I am looking forward to seeing the Nicole/Dana showdown next week.  I do wonder if June is going to be tied to Hayley.
    • I thought Adam and Sara got married? Although I do not remember any mention of her when Adam returned for Blake's weddings. But MA certainly got the short end of the stick storywise, as Marland's obsession with therapy reared it's head.
    • Didn’t Meg Bennett return to SFT as a writer in the last few years. I always wondered if they tried to get her back as Liza.
    • Millette Alexander got the short end of the stick once they killed off Joe. The Justin thing was a non-starter. Then she was briefly married to Alan's corrupt lawyer and HE was killed off. She was paired briefly with Adam and that ended because she believed Holly over Roger about the rape. Definitely, Marland had zero interest in her except as the therapist for the many, many of his female characters who needed therapy. It's not odd she left the show. One of the rare 1978 episodes on YT shows Alan going to Cedars for a physical check-up. He ends up with Sarah as his doctor. In between making mysoginistic comments about women doctors, he also openly flirts with her. It's very obvious they were chem testing Sarah and Alan. It's a really good scene. Bernau is both obnoxious and charming and Millette is amazing, trying to be pleasant and profesional without rolling her eyes at him, but at the same time maybe a LITTLE bit attracted to him. An interesting what-might-have-been. So it appears the Dobsons were actively looking for someone to pair her with, they just never found the right one for a long-term story.

    • First, let me say I love reading all of your takes and thoughts. They always provide a different point of view... a breath of fresh air... in this sometimes stuffy topic.

You've inspired me to add my 2 cents about this product placement debacle.  I absolutely HATE the way they are doing product placement in BTG. I really hope this doesn't catch on or evolve into more and more of these moments. It's incredibly off-putting to place them in a highly dramatic moment where we are still on the emotional journey with the character. What is next - Dani spraying the house while having a nervous breakdown? It makes me not want to buy the product they're selling. LOL. That's just me.
    • I always get the vibe that Martin/Smitty have an emotional abusive relationship set up... but I doubt the show will really go there with that element given that Martin is a Dupree (and we can't have the Duprees be portrayed in a negative light), and because it's a gay male relationship.   Even though abuse in the physical or emotional sense is a huge thing in a lot of gay and lesbian relationships. The Ashley/Naomi scene reads off to me for one reason....  Ashley was talking about the new scandal without any sort of mention and/or subtext.. considering she knew both Silk Press Sheila and Eva.  I'm not sure if the writers have forgotten, if Jen Jacobs isn't able to play subtext, or what.   It's just apparent the writers do not know how to write a young white millennial couple.. and perhaps they need to get a younger white script writer to be on staff... or let the actors play around with the lines to make them more natural/realistic.
    • This is as good a time as any to point out that the 90 minute show was, what I like to call  "cockamamie idea" of Fred Silverman, head of NBC Daytime Programming. He did so well at ABC & CBS but not so NBC. We learned this from a WOST interview with Pete Lemay, 2006, can be found on YouTube, audio only. Now, to be clear, Rauch was completely behind it. Only Lemay fought against it & eventually quit over it.
