I am looking forward to seeing this Dr. Jonas. When did he first appear?

I had no idea Gerald Anthony was scheduled to appear, what a shame, I would’ve loved that.

I can’t imagine Todd and Jason couldn’t both fit. Maybe I’m too caught up in the moment but I shall fantasize for now, and what an easy way for Wanda to appear again for Jason.

Somewhere after Sarah came back. So that is probably after December 1991... More like early 1992. He's just a hottie that stirs things up from time to time. 😂

I haven't watched much of '94 since it first aired when I was a kid (and with the exception of revisiting the rape trial saga I am slowly going from '91 chronologically - I started watching in '93, and will also revisit '94-'95) so I couldn't say for sure. I do think they lost focus on Jason with Roger Howarth and Todd taking off like a rocket, and so Jason became a B or C-player. If things had been different who knows. I wish they'd tried Jason and Marty for real, for instance.

Malone's favorite sexy rapist is probably a big factor, but even before that Jason had been steadily siloed. I wonder how much is down to Jason not being a character he created. The 1994 crop of men brought in is also remarkably bland, so that may be down to network mandates deciding Jason was not "hot" enough.

I still wish he'd stayed around, but maybe he was better off leaving before some of the bad years arrived.

I have made it through 10/18 and into the Jane spousal abuse plot. I am not if episodes were missing but wow they dove right in randomly introducing these folks at Wanda’s, then in their home, then suddenly Viki and Sheila were involved. I’m a little lost, so surely some of the sequence is missing.

After nearly a month they have overdone Tina and her past lives. I’m over it. It was nice to use Luna as both a friend to Tina and to evaluate her relationship with Cord but this is ridiculous and not an aspect I’ve ever enjoyed peeking into Malone era Llanview (coming from someone who loved Eterna and 1888)

The scenes of Asa attacking and berating LeeAnn at the party were astounding, made me see more in LeeAnn than prior. The following confrontation with Stephanie makes me wish Stephanie more outwardly caused trouble and shows she must be flirting with Joey to get to Kevin which is rather wild.

Not even sure what to make of Jake and his tormentor harassing him. Some of this is wild.

PS-I really enjoy the “everyday people” aspect with Eddie and Quincy at The Banner and Wanda, Luna, LeeAnn and Jason working at the restaurant. I was shook to see The Banner with an actual staff and Blair coming in.

@soapfave06 Tina's past lives scenes were cringe. I didn't like them what so ever, but thankfully they moved on from that too. These first months have messy moments... Also... not sure where you are watching the episodes from... if you are on youtube, know that some of the episodes are in wrong order as I recall... So some of the missing sequence may be in the future episodes, just dated wrong. I had that issue for a day or two, but then managed to figure out which episode comes after which and I filled in the missing pieces.

The domestic abuse storyline gets more interesting as time goes by, when Viki and Megan are finally involved. Then we have a pure GIRL power moment will all the women of Llanview coming together against the bad guy. I won't spoil, since I don't know how much you have seen.

Oh and yes, the Jake and tormentor scenes were another cringe, that I didn't like. I was at that time confused as to what this show is... I was hating certain aspects of it... but thankfully all this cleaned up with time and it got better and better.

I don't know about that. Malone came in mere weeks after Jason, we don't know if he had any actual hand in his creation (onscreen credits aside, you could see Malone's hand in things in late August-early September even before his first credited day) and I do think he wrote for him carefully and well for a long time. But he was infatuated with Howarth and Todd, as was virtually the entire industry at that time.

The episodes posted in some spaces online are out of sequence. I had to do some digging to find the right chronological order, but it does exist.

I don't remember how long Eddie and Quincey hang around but I think the last time I saw the original Banner on OLTL was maybe in 1999 or 2000. It finally returned in a way in 2013, but was relegated to Viki's office (with Destiny working in the mailroom). I always loved the Banner city room and seeing people there.

The kinky torture scenes with German dominatrix Ilsa are very horny Malone, and I am pretty sure are a deliberate gag per the famous sexploitation films "Ilsa: She-Wolf of the SS" lol. I loved the silly Tina past lives stuff but that's because I thought Karen Witter, JL, etc. all played the hell of it. It's way better than some of Malone's later fantasy bits. I also loved Megan playing the straight woman to it all.

I was just watching... and chileeee... Sloan knew where to find Viki of course. I SWEAR he is the male version of Brooke Logan. THAN MAN never stops till her gets what he wants. AH! I'm getting excited again.

I will say I enjoyed Karen and John honing the material, especially those Greek god scenes, I missed the pirate scenes and do intend to go out of my way to find them, it just doesn’t fit the show, and I can’t say how since I enjoyed the more wild 80s stories.

I think soaps miss out not having more “work place scenes” which for me helps the pace feel more natural and avoids stagnant scenes: Luna and Wanda chatting between customers, Eddie and Quincey giving Cassie a hard time, Viki returning to The Banner after the Porter caper surrounded by everyone and learning the assistant quit versus repetitive recap dialogue scenes.

There also is much more diverse under fives or background actors since Gottlieb took over which is nice to see.

Agreed, and I think Viki is bracingly in her element there when she finally returns in the fall. I love the stuff at Halloween with Luna and Lee Ann, two women notably not from urban Llanview, just hanging out drinking and being pals.

I don't think Blair and Viki ever worked together again after how things go very poorly for them at the Banner early on, though they did become fond in-laws. One of their last scenes on the show together (ever, in 2013) is the two of them bonding over Todd's latest departure and Viki comforting Blair. I like to think Blair is still running the Sun today, her renewed Melador business from GH aside. (Can she do both as a journalist? Food for thought. I would not get rid of Melador though as that passion of hers has been there since these very first days with Mia Korf, making her own jewelry in the boardinghouse.)

I just think the past lives stuff is a fun and rightly brief romp, and shows just how versatile Loprieno (and Witter) were. It's some of Malone's later attempts at florid fantasy, particularly in the 2000s, that have a much rougher track record.

I will look forward to those Halloween scenes!

I really enjoyed the scenes of Blair at the boarding house making her jewelry while keeping Addie calm, compared to September, the show really started rocking in October.

I lowkey would have loved the boarding house to be revealed as Ina’s and just having these lost souls staying there, I treasure that vibe of late 70s Llanview.

Does anyone know where LeeAnn and Jason are living? It seems they live in the same place.

I left off last night with Jason opening up about his abusive father and had to force myself to turn off the tv as he faced a broken mirror. So good!

I believed for many years (and still do) that the Llantano Mountain 'quarry' locale from the 2000s where young folks used to go to make out was the remaining ruins and rubble of Eterna, lol. So I can relate.

I thought Jason and Lee Ann were just living above Wanda's but I can't recall offhand, I need to get back to November.
