Hehehe. Yes, we saw Kiki. Dorian had a particular obsession with catching her with male prostitutes while Kiki is snorting coke in the local roadhouse. I remember Kiki liked the guys on the younger side. I also liked hearing her name as it reminded me of famous "poltergeist" from my country.

"The beginning of the end."

Oh, friends, we have so much to talk about!

Leanne Demerest lost the custody. It was such a feast for my eyes to see this irresponsible opportunistic liar get her baby taken away from her. I'm not going to pretend and say I didn't cheer. But we all knew they would not take this sitting down, right. Jason took the baby, actually, let me correct myself - kidnapped Demerest, while claiming it will be only for 1 night... and then Leanne decided - No, I'm going to keep him and just run away and become a fugitive and drag you Jason with me. What an idiot! I know she is not emotionally stable right now, I give her this... but she is not even for a second thinking what this will do to Jason who has a prior criminal record. She doesn't. This will ruin his life. The writers added a nice touch with making Dorian some sort of an accomplice to the whole thing. Jason asked her for money and in the end Dorian agreed. IMO, Dorian let them do this because she damn well knows they will be caught and then their relationship will suffer. Dorian chose to let them fall. Very clever.

P.S What Asa said when Demerest was crying in his first night away from his mother was so cynical, yet unforgettable. - "Listen Kevin, it's better to cry in a palace, than laugh in the gutter."

Next, we had one of the best karmic returns that I've ever seen in my entire life. I don't condone violence like this and it is despicable, but when a bomb that was meant for Andrew Carpenter... actually hurt the one that STARTED the entire rumor - Marty, I didn't feel sorry for her. YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW little girl. You wanted to destroy an innocent man's life and in the process put an entire community in danger? I'M NOT FEELING PITY FOR YOU!  And the fact that in the last minutes before the bomb went off... she was expressing remorse about what she did... also doesn't change anything for me. It is too little TOO LATE. You've created a no way out situation for Andrew now. They don't even care if he is gay or not anymore. They want him out - period. I will be surprised if they don't kill him at the end of this storyline. If they don't crucify him! So, no, I don't feel sorry for people who create hate campaigns and then feel remorse when the damage has already been done. No redeeming them for me.

All of this happening at the church triggered a wave, a domino effect of destruction that ended up splitting Clint (who is acting more and more homophobic) and Victoria up even more. He even dared to FORBID her from engaging in this situation, like she is a child. The disappointment and distress in Victoria's eyes was so evident. Her own husband acts like a stranger. I'm sorry to say this, but it appears this marriage is slowly falling apart. Victoria even had a dream about Sloan being the man behind her in her bedroom. Aaand... I am disliking Clint more and more with each episode. I definitely now believe the fans who said that he hated how they were writing him.

We had one of the most endearing and moving scenes when William Carpenter's partner came to town. He arrived after seeing Andrew on TV and what is happening in Llanview. He wanted to ask William's relatives to take part in a piece that can be added to the national NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt - a memorial to celebrate the lives of people who have died of AIDS. He approached Andrew's father and very humanly presented his case - he said that William would be very happy if his father did this one thing for him - just write down his name... and that he didn't blame him at the end for basically deserting him. I teared up. I couldn't contain my tears.

Last, but not least - Max and Blair's affair is getting a second wind. Max found out from Addie that Blair is very unhappy, feels trapped and actually married Asa because she was threatened and blackmailed. Now Max did what he does best, he dressed like Robin Hood and went in the castle to save the damsel in distress. But this is no ordinary damsel and he better be careful.

Overall - 10/10 - I couldn't stop. Episode after episode. That's how you know a show is good.

I went back to Clint Ritchie's website and he had a lot of media on there. There are some interviews and it's obvious he still had a lot of anger about Clint being portrayed as homophobic. Even when he left the show, he kept bringing up 1992 in the interviews. I can't imagine how Roy Thinnes and Slezak felt about the whole thing if Ritchie were this upset. The interviewer taunts him at one point by asking him what he thinks of Slezak not wanting Viki and Clint to ever reunite (think this was just before he left the show). He's gracious about it but he does not act surprised.

That's interesting. Thanks for sharing. I would love to read more of this. I'll have to look for this site.

One of the best nights I've had when it comes to watching this show. My husband tried to unglue me from the TV, but it was not happening. He joined for the second and third episode. Victoria and Sloan were dangerously close. He was seconds to confessing his feelings, when she just stormed off. Anna Karenina/Bridges of Madison... here we come. SIGN ME FOR IT. This is my specialty.

Thanks again @Maxim

I remember when I would read OLTL boards in the late '90s some fans would say Clint was controlling and abusive. I never really get that vibe most of the time but that was the case by this point.

Clint sort of reminds me of my father in these last few episodes. Some of the things he is saying are like copy-paste of conversations I've heard as a child standing by the door of the bedroom. In this regard IMO it's incredibly realistic portrayal of a straight homophobic man that is growing more and more paranoid about his family slipping away or being influenced by things he perceives are damaging or shameful. Add to this the growing jealousy... and you get the man that is Clint in 1992. My advantage in terms of overall enjoyability (and a huge disadvantage when it comes to knowledge about the show) is that I haven't bonded with the character of Clint at all. I didn't like or dislike him prior to this storyline. I've only seen him in probably 5-6 meaningful scenes in the period I've covered (October 1991 - August 1992). I have nothing to compare him to, while vet fans have their history with the show and its characters. They basically knew this guy for decades and making him part of the villains in this very sensitive story was a trigger. Me lacking the prior viewing of OLTL makes me see this as a completely normal story. Just another straight uninformed male that likes to undermine gays.  Exhibiting the worst habits of straight men. Nearly 40 years later... they are still the same. The only thing that he hasn't done so far is to get drunk or raise his hand to Victoria. But as much as this can make an actor dissatisfied... in terms of how fans are reacting to him - it happens. It happens in real life and we've all seen it, heard about it and lived through it. And sometimes all it takes is a conflict like this in the show so that these cracks can show.

"Where have you been all day?"

Victoria Buchanan is officially in her Anna Karenina era.

Leanne Demerest and Jason are on the run. They are trying to evade the authorities and Kevin, who managed to track a phone conversation with Leanne to a cheap hotel in Philadelphia. Before the police could catch them, however... they managed to escape again. Now they have a bigger problem - Jason was robbed at the train station and they have no money. The suspense is killing me, but in a good way. I have a thing for storylines like this when characters are running away from someone. They remind me of the 1940s movies I love so much.

Victoria slipped quietly out of the bedroom and disappeared. She spend the entire day with Sloan. There was this incredibly moving scene where Sloan was shown the piece that Andrew, Cassie and William's partner created - a beautiful piece full of memories about William. I teared up. It was like I was watching my own homophobic father look at me...  When they showed the memory of little William when he was a child... I was sobbing.  In the end Sloan couldn't bring himself to cut his son's name out from the piece, even though he threatened to do it. All of this was masterfully orchestrated by Victoria. She is the dark empath we all need in our lives.

Then when alone together... Sloan couldn't contain himself anymore. He was tired of denying what he and Victoria have been experiencing for weeks. The attraction, the connection, the unspoken truth. I gasped when I thought he was about to kiss her. The inner struggle and conflict in Victoria's eyes and body language was mesmerizing to witness. This is not your typical soap opera affair. This is not Brooke Logan cheating on Ridge. This is a real woman that has dignity, class and principles. A woman that loves her husband, but is also a human being, torn by emotions and passion. This is not an easy cheap thrill. And that's what makes it powerful. When Victoria came home... Clint asked her "Where were you all day?" She started making million and one excuses, but couldn't say the truth. In the end, when pressed and questioned again... she did admit that she saw Sloan, but "only for 15 minutes".

Talking about 15 minutes of pleasure... the sexual tension between Max and Blair culminated in one very hot scene in the woods. I think the fans of romance will be very happy with how this is going. The roles were reversed this time... it was Blair who was the aggressor. This is like every unsatisfied housewife's wet dream. Now Blair has to choose - she either picks real love and Max and goes to him before midnight... or she stays in her expensive prison and picks money and power. This is her second time she is in this situation.

Last, but not least - Alex Olanov and Bulge blackmailed a judge into releasing her, so she is on the loose again.

Overall - 10+

SUBLIME.

I ran across this scene from 1994.  These are the days from OLTL that I remember well, as a kid who watched AMC every single day, but was always so curious about OLTL the next hour. Luna was a character I remember being intrigued by.  Watching this scene, it's so very southern and I can't imagine it's really from Pennsylvania. I love the southern tones from this era between Luna and Blair. OLTL really should have been set in the midwest, like OK/AR/KS, or mid-south like TN/KY.

I also love how homo-erotic the Max and Cord scenes are LOL.

I love it too. So sad that I can't find the masters anywhere on youtube. Some of them I can, but not all. The show has the best background music ever. I especially adore Alex Olanov's theme, but can't find the source. The more dramatic piece, not the comedy-mob one. The one when she was trying to drown Cassie, that still persists to this day. Sometimes this tune will come and visit my mind while I'm doing chores and every day stuff.
