April 17, 201114 yr Member Sadly, I will most likely leave this board once AMC ends. For the past 2 years, I've only been watching AMC (that's all I have time for in daytime). The only other thread I contribute to is Real Housewives... we'll see how long I stay up with that. This whole thing is just so sad for me. Maybe it's good though - I can now move on. I'll save an hour per day of my life, along with another hour reading online soap websites and threads. Anyway, if I were to write AMC off... I loved Gillian's heaven storyline. I know not many did, but I think we should end the show with all the characters in heaven sending best wishes to Pine Valley. This should most definitely include Dixie, Stuart, Leo, Gillian, Natalie, Trevor (although won't happen), Travis, etc... overlooking all those present in Pine Valley... all families uniting together - Kanes, Chandlers, Martins, Hubbards, etc. Janet should come back and Amanda should visit her. Ryan will take Emma to see Annie. Liza will see Marian... It's a no-brainer. Let me write AMC's farewell
April 17, 201114 yr Member Adam, I think that's the radio version they used to play on easy listening stations my grandparents always had on in the car. Oh, ok thanks SFK! I never knew that. Sounds like something that would be played on AC radio. Interesting.
April 17, 201114 yr Member Yes! A slow rendition of the original theme played solo on piano high up in the tinkly octaves. Then gut punch with that low minor chord like the end of that Golden Girl's episode with Alzheimer's Alvin. I want all of this, but I wouldn't be mad if they used the little tune from when Bianca read the poem in the 35th anniversary ep (a clip I've pimped no less than three times in the last few days, but whateva! I do what I want!).
April 17, 201114 yr Member Nearly all of the show's continuity has been thrown out the window. All we have left are the characters. Barely any class differentiations. McTavish almost immediately put an end to that in 2003. I even miss the Pine Cone, where the less well to do of Pine Valley went to live back in the early 90s - early 2000s.

April 17, 201114 yr Member And of course, the classic theme... which as SFK and I were just discussing... should be the theme music, if any, that should overlay the final scenes. <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/AAgYuc7YrXY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Aww, you betta work that room pregnant pre-nose management Erica. The way Walt is talking with his hand over his mouth you know he was cussing somebody out or dishing tonight's plans. Rosa Langschwadt, I am REALLY surprised that name didn't get changed for showbiz pre-marriage.

You officially knew you were at the bottom of the totem pole of Pine Valley society when you checked in there! Wasn't Richie living there for a while? Remember when Kendall was living there in 2002? How far she has come! Haha!

Yeah, I can't remember if it was this one or the white linen opening theme, but I do remember hearing them on the radio while in the car with my grandparents as I said. Whatever station that was they listened to, I also remember them playing the full version of Bill Conti's Dynasty theme (and a guitar instrumental of I Just Called to Say I Love You that my grandfather just lurrved).
April 17, 201114 yr Member Here are a bunch of soap opera themes in the wave format.... http://themes.wavethemes.net/themo-a.htm

I keep flashing to the mental image of Erica (SUSAN really, thinking about Fra) breaking that smile and dabbing her tears without messing up her makeup and the hairs start to stand up.

I hope ABC lets them have one final cast credit roll and use this theme. That lullaby-ish part of the minute mark always tugs at my heart...now more than ever. Barely any class differentiations. McTavish almost immediately put an end to that in 2003. I even miss the Pine Cone, where the less well to do of Pine Valley went to live back in the early 90s - early 2000s. The Pine Cone, with it's dingy walls, hard mattress, dirty floors, smelly bathroom, and !@#$%^&*] landlord. Pine Valley went down in class when they phased out the Pine Cone.
April 17, 201114 yr Member You know, every time I get deep into one of these candlelight vigil threads I think that we should make use of the chat room at least once in a while.

And the guys standing there, looking all big and strong, but they're probably melting a little bit too because obvi SuLu was reacting to someone when she flashed that smile and chocked up. That scene made me feel proud as hell to be an All My Children fan. Just like newer cast members like Trent and Chrishell talk about being a part of something that's so much bigger and more than them, that's how I felt in that moment. I'd been watching for four years, but this thang had been around for 35 years. For me, it was an honor and a please to just be able to watch that scene.
