Members Sindacco
Yeah Days was pretty Nascar heavy back in 2004-2006. But if I remember correctly EJ was a Formula One driver yet he and Max had raced. How do you see ratings for a storyline? Yes and in 1998 Sami scheemed so Austin would box again knowing Carrie wouldn't like it. Then in 1999 Austin and Brandon had a boxing fight during November sweeps. Members DRW50
GL had race car driving when Reva drove a car during her cancer battle. The British soaps frequently have stories about football (soccer). Usually it's just a way to pass the time, whether in matches (Corrie had a very funny match back in the 70s - Hilda Ogden scored a goal), talking about teams and rivalries, comedy stories about getting tickets. Eastenders started building up a story about a local football enterprise, "Real Walford," that was dumped in 2005 with a producer change. Corrie had a footballer, David Barlow, as a core character from 1960-1968, and his injuries and ups and downs were often seen. Eastenders had a story in 1993 about a footballer, played by Sean Maguire, whose leg was permanently damaged due to the bad influence of his toxic girlfriend. He nearly killed himself but the BBC stopped this and he instead just went back to Ireland. Hollyoaks had a ton of football stories around 2001 - with several footballers as regular characters, one of the lead female characters marrying a footballer, others sleeping with them, one raping a regular character. The peak may have been the pseudo-adult video special, Indecent Behaviour, which mostly took place at a lavish mansion overrun with footballers and their entourage. This also had what is one of the few times ever that a major soap character has had a threesome - one of the women who was going to marry a footballer and was told that she couldn't handle the lifestyle decided to prove she could by having a threeway with her fiance and his teammate/friend. Members Michael
Passions focused a lot on Whitney and her tennis at the beginning. TC was her coach and was pushing her really hard. I can't remember if they ever resolved that or just sort of dropped it so that Whitney could have an incestuous affair and love child and TC could mutter about "the shed" for five years... Members Cheap21
I loved the tennis angle with Whitney. Good example. I think it kinda started to get dropped when they had her start singing, which went nowhere. I dont really know why it was removed from her character. It added alot to her
Members Khan
I would suggest that AMC's Bianca's next love interest be a professional tennis player, except, lesbian tennis players aren't exactly shocking to most people, lol.
