That's a clever name for it. Reminds me of an old country song.

Ha, indeed!

What's the White Linen theme? The one that aired in the 90s till early 2000s, with the Pearl and Locket openings

Yes sir. Not my favorite opening. As a matter of fact, I was pretty devastated when it debuted for the 25th anniversary. The original orchestration was slow and depressing and a real letdown after an amazing opening like "Falling Pictures" (SFK™).

I have a soft spot for the Locket/Pearls opening (because where was the linen??), but yeah, it was plain. I thought, however, that the music was more AMC than the Barber/Israel theme.

I think it's time for another themes/openings thread, y'all!

One of the magazines did a piece on the opening when it debuted, and FMB mentioned that the background images were filmed through a white linen filter. That's where I got it from.

Ah okay. I loved the concept of the background images and the various Americana-ish items, and I wonder if it would have been better received had that been the focus of the sequence instead of just overlaying headshots.

The only thing i remember from OLTL in that era was Ty Moody and Alex Olanov so i cant make an assessment of how misleading the Satin Sheet intro was LOL

Nancy Barrett's 1st episode as Faith on Ryan's Hope in 1976

It's kind of hard seeing Nancy Barrett play Faith, who was the youngest of the three Coleridge kids - when in fact, in real life she was the oldest of the three! She has/had at least three or four years on both Ron Hale and the late Nancy Addison.

Kate Mulgrew set such a high bar for the role of Mary that it seemed anyone who followed her was doomed to fail. You could have stuck Meryl Streep in there and she wouldn't have been accepted by the audience.
