Bill had plans for Blade but Tylo/Epperson had NO chemistry & Tylo himself couldn't carry the story.

Why not recast then? It seems foolish to waste all the potential.

Why not recast then?

Cause by the time their lack of chemistry became the main issue Y&R was already too far into the twin story.

Was Bergman involved in that not too good story about Lien's mystery illness, followed by her not even dying with Jack there (I think John was the only one there). If so, I think he made a big mistake. That story at least gave Jack his own family and potential legacy -- Jack has just been a supporting character and a patsy (for Victor, Phyllis, Billy, etc.) since then.

Regarding Michael Tylo I know he has quite the soap resume and was huge as Quint on GL but by any chance did he get the role of Blade like Shari Shattuck later got the role of Ashley? You know, the typical Bell nepotism politics?

Luan's death always seemed to me to be the easy way out.

The April story was great. Wonderful acting from Cynthia and Doug and the ending was a heartbreaker. I still can't believe they had April come back for like 2 days with Rebecca Staab. Just more disrespect for history.

Yeah that was bad. Still Eilbacher was fantastic in the story. I mentioned Nelson (who also had previously played Faren's daughter in the 80s) because I vividly remember watching Heather's nightmare of April being sentenced to death, those were terrifying scenes at my age then.

Bill wanted a soap vet for Blade.

The whole thing was similar to the way Stephen Nichols & Tucker are cast/used now.

Luan's death always seemed to me to be the easy way out.

Again blame Bergman.

When Lisa and Shannon headed south of the border in search of Scott, we expected a wild adventure. But the intrepid twosome never caught a glimpse of their query, Lisa's wayward son. Lisa ended up bagging the trip early. Shannon stuck around and was joined by Duncan. They traipsed around a small town called Las Palmas with a creepy archeologist named St. Clare, who was after a missing Mayan statue called Sundancer. Evidently, Scott was involved in the theft of Sundancer. But who cared? We never saw Scott, and we never found out where he was. The search for Scott was a lame pretext for an "adventure" to reunite Duncan and Shannon, who found love again while trapped in a tomb. How romantic.

On soaps, teenagers tend to be one of two types: Either they're too-good-to-be-true angels crusading for worthy causes, or they're scheming hellions that even a mother couldn't love. But like most real teens, ATWT's Pete falls somewhere in the middle. On the plus side, Pete is protective of Aaron and stood up to a pack of punks who were picking on Dani; on the minus side, he's giving mom Julie and stepdad Caleb a major headache.

Unlike most soap teens, Pete had some pretty good excuses for running away from home, skipping chores and mouthing off. For one thing, he grew up in Seattle and never knew Julie, so now he naturally wants to figure out what he can get away with. And let's face it: There's not a teenage boy in America who would rather live on the Snyder farm with Emma than in Seattle, birthplace of grunge rock.
