Thanks for finding and sharing those 1997, 2001, 2003 and 2004 episodes Carl! They certainly brought back a lot of nostalgia for myself.

I always forget about Rianna, Alexis Thorpe's first big role. I also forget how much Stafford and Phyllis were so vibrant there 2000-2004. Not to mention when the creepy strange Kevin/Lauren friendship occurred I was fascinated by it as Michael desperately tried to keep secret his ties to Kevin. Easy to forget that Michael was such a vibrant character 1997-circa 2005. Those Isabella/Diane scenes were better than I remembered.

Walters certainly did have her moments especially during the custody battle and later on when Jack invited her to move back in but overall lacked Donnelley's fierceness and regal nature. Part of the problem is because by 2003 and 2004 Diane was suppose to be an antagonist to all (pool house fire mystery yet then bailing out Jabot with money she got from Victor's divorce settlement) but Walters while competent couldn't carry enough weight.

I can't watch any of the characters like Michael, or Kevin, or anyone currently on the show, except Nikki or Jill. Too much damage.

That teen scene around the time of Rianna just seemed to lack spark, for me.

Someone at TWOP wondered if they were chem testing Dru and Victor here.

An SOD preview for summer 1989 has a photo of Cricket and a photo of Chase, and says she will become closer to him, asks if she will tame the Jack Abbott in training.

How far did this story go? I thought she was with Danny by this time.

Did Chase ever have any real interaction with Jack?

It didn't & she was.

Chase like every guy on the show (at one point she had FIVE different men wanting her) was IN LOVE with Cricket.

Not really.

He had more interaction with Jill & Katherine (Jack at the time was busy with with Brad, Leanna & Lauren).

    • Finally got to sit down and watch. Wow!  When LesDanLuAnn said to Ted, this your daughter. I started tearing up...... Eva got me.  I felt like I was watching a soap opera.

    • The drag was when Tad and Edmund went to Budapest (?) in 1997 to get Maddie back from Dimitri.
    • I know it's not happening but on the surface, there's nothing left for Leslie and Eva to do but to hightail it out of town, if they value their lives. Leslie has destroyed Ted's image, embarrassed and humiliated his wife and children, and unearthed the wrath of the entire Dupree family. She's crazier than I thought if she thinks they are just going to let this slide.
    • It will be amazing if we could record the skipped episodes. Did someone sent a list of the skipped youtube episodes to the guys that are filling in the gaps?
    •   I don't think they ever wanted Sprina to be popular and I don't think they will bring Spencer back until Trina is gone. They've worked hard to marginalize their black cast, and that is only increasing. Trina/Gio could have been an interesting relationship, but they would rather just whittle that character away and then write her out.
    • Daytime belonged to CBS. They would have been making a lot of $$$ with that lineup. For context, this is the lineup at that time. Only one soap on ABC (GH) and NBC (TD) which was still an anthology at that point. So it wasn't until the opposition added more soaps that they became competitive. NBC CBS ABC 10:00am Say When! • Per recent Twitch live: Wraps filming his new film on Friday. Begins a new film on May 19. Will resume regular Twitch streams soon. Has a lot of projects coming out later this year. His current project has kept him in Tennessee longer than he was meant to be.
    • Has BTG been using flashbacks much? Of course, as a new show there aren't many f/b worthy moments but I think they can get by w/o having to use/recreate the Leslie reveal scene. What other 'soap' tropes have they employed or ignored so far? We've talked about the lack of traditional cliffhangers with lingering camera shots. They have done a couple of fantasy scenes. Has anyone apart from Dana had talk to themselves scenes? Montages?
    • Thank You!!! @rsclassicfanforever and to anyone else who contributed to the vaults over the years. I have dipped in/out and gotten my life watching Y&R early years. I never would had the appreciation for characters like Lorie Brooks if not for the Vaults, so again, Thanks.
