well it sure as heck wasnt going to GH...LOL

What was the award for?

Its a humanitarion award honoring efforts to fight agains violence against women and children. AMC won the media award. The only thing I can think of is their use of the Miranda Center when Erica intervened to protect and save Madison last fall when she was being abused by her father. I cant remember if they did a public service announcement

Congrats to Agnes! She well deserved this award for all the times AMC has tackled wife and child abuse in the past.

Looking at Mrs. Nixon, sometimes it's hard to believe that she doesn't live in a huge prewar apartment on the UES and have at least a couple more last names.

laugh.giflaugh.gif This was my very first thought, too.

Perhaps with their sister show getting an award, someone at GH might pay a little attention. GH used to get this type of recognition once upon a time.

GH could have been a contender for the Kristina storyline but then 90% of the rest of the show is dealt with women being absued, manhandled, trashed, being kicked down, etc... They even failed with the Kristina story bc they dropped the ball by having Sonny never acknowledge that he is abusive in his own way. The story just faded away with no proper resolution

How many shows have tackled woman and/or child abuse within the last year though? AMC and GH are the only ones that come to mind and AMC wins by default. Its almost like the GLAAD awards and AMC being the only nominee/winner for years simply bc the rest werent tackling those issues

It was even a daytime specific award though. The recognition is an overall media award. The recipient could've been a primetime show or even a magazine.

In that case I'm calling shenanigans. Check the donor list. I'm guessing somebody from ABC gave a lot of money.
