Have y'all ever read about this poster "SourceRyan" almost getting sued by a DAYS writer for what it was thought he was tweeting? I never had till today.

It’s my first time going through the 1984 episodes and I reached the end of September 1984 after like working getting through that year for the last 3 years lol

But Kimberly got introduced and seemed to be on the run and afraid of someone but we still haven’t learned who it was after like 3-4 months with her being around.

BUT Tony-Kimberly had some flirting going on over weeks. I wonder why the writers never went there with Tony DiMera and Kimberly Brady tbh.

The Prism Story became so boring. Only thing keeping it alive for me is that Alice Horton and Tom Horton are heavily involved in helping Bo and Hope.

I’m confused. I know Larry is a villain and a wretch for Hope and Bo. But when Hope started dating/seeing Larry she actually liked him as a friend. I mean she kinda got forced into marrying him but that was out of Larry’s hands. He always treated her right and seemed really into her. But all of the sudden he is so deeply in love with Gwen and hates Hope and Hope hates him. Which made no sense coz they actually were pretty good friends at first. Weird.

That was one thing I noticed when I watched the 1984 episodes and read the early 80s synopses: there was a lot of chem testing and flirtations that ultimately went nowhere. And while they testing Kim/Tony, it also seemed to me like they were testing Kim/Don as well.

Days seemed to wander a bit that year after the serial killer storyline. I don't know how far they planned things in advance but Wayne Northrop's departure probably threw a wrench in some of those plans.

The cast had been giving way more to younger characters and by the end of 1984 a lot centered around characters who had been there less than two years, several only a few months. Thankfully for the show, it ended up being a darn solid group of characters. I like a lot of 1985.

Kim/Tony is an interesting idea. I also noticed what felt like a Tony/Sandy chem test in an episode (I think from '83) I watched a while back. One has to wonder what the show could've been like if they'd gone either of those directions...

It's crazy to me that they never gave Tony (or even Andre) a kid. Hell, the Stefan/Jake characters could've been Tony's. Not that I want more random DiMeras now, but they have drained the Stefano-has-another-kid well bone-dry.

Tony/Kim and Tony/Sandy are such interesting alternate timelines. I always wonder what would've happened if Marlena had been paired with one of the Horton sons (Mickey, Bill, or Tommy) instead of with Don and then Roman, too. It's unlikely you would've gotten that lightning-in-a-bottle thing that happened with her and Roman in the early 80s, but her being tied to the Hortons would've provided a whole new path for that family to flourish.

Roman & Marlena were as popular as Luke & Laura at a particular time. The trick there is that it was a time when Luke & Laura were off the canvas. Heh heh. But, still, they were VERY popular. Roman & Anna were not a thing. Roman & Anna were together in the distant past, offscreen, before their characters had been created. Then, Anna showed up with this little 4 year old girl & a wild story. By that time Roman & Marlena were together.

True. (I started to watch Days regulary between 1987/89.. But had a few breaks and missed a lot up until 2002/2003 when Chloe and Brady were a thing.)

Anna was always one of my favorites when she returned in the 2000’s. But to finally see her in her prime years is so amazing. I do think if they would’ve invested in Roman and Anna they would’ve worked too.

i still find it weird that after all those episodes and popularity of Roman/Marlena that they pretend like they never happened. Nothing against Jarlena. But it’s odd. Maybe it has to do with Wayne not being Roman anymore but still.
