Interesting, but...

I think she'd do wonders with a Chelsea Lately type of show at night. I've seen many of my favorite stars go down in flames with this daytime/fluff stuff, when they might have had a better chance at late night, but that's JMHO. Of course, I hope she succeeds though.

I hope she succeeds because I think Fran is a badass woman who has done more for cancer screening in the United States than any government campaign could ever hope to achieve. Stage One Is The Cure. Rock on Fran.

That said, Debmar Mercury produces The Wendy Williams Show...which airs mostly on FOX. I sure as sh*t hope Fran isn't moving in on my Wendy's territory.

Sounds about right.

Wendy got a pick up through 2012...I wonder when Fran's show would launch wide if it does well?

And bellcurve, unrelated, but, how is Swift Justice with Nancy doing?

I heard Nate got a 1.2 and Nancy got a 1.1. Awful numbers when compared to heavyweights like Wheel of Fortune, Oprah, and Judge Judy, but in this day and age, new syndie entries are lucky to get that.

There are problems with Nancy's format that should be fixed and that should definitely be addressed(i.e. webcam cases in lieu of flying people to Atlanta for the show), but I think she's off to a decent start. She just needs to fix what's wrong with her show and build on that to become a Joe Brown or even Judge Judy.

I was just going to say, this is exactly what they did with Wendy. She had that summer try out in a handful of markets before she got picked up. I doubt Fran would take Wendy's spot, just be another feather in their cap. Meanwhile[/Fran], I don't know if it was the same company, but in my market they tried out the Craig Kilborn show M-F evenings at 7. I'm guessing it didn't get picked up, well, at least not in NY. I thought it was boring and unfunny and I missed my Simpsons reruns. I really wanted it to be better.

That 1.1 is pretty harsh for Nancy, but like you said, for a first season in syndication, it's expected.

From what I've researched, Wendy is pulling in a 1.4, with strong 18-34 and 18-49 demos. She's also airing on BET in the US and BET UK, Middle East and Africa to good numbers. Clearly, this is a show that's making money.

Unless Fran is somehow going to best those numbers and contracts, Wendy should be a 'friend in my head' for at least a few more seasons!
