Members I Am A Swede Posted December 31, 2014 Members Share Posted December 31, 2014 The Christmas special was more of a feelgood episode than a dramatic one. (Hope that isn't too spoilerish) I have to say that, even though it was tragic, the deaths of Matthew and Sybil proved to be more beneficial for the show than the opposite. It gave both Mary and Tom, and the show as a whole, new storyline opportunities. The show has actually, in my opinion, been better after Matthew's death than before. The absolute highlight remains the dowager countess and Isobel though, Maggie Smith and Penelope Wilton are wonderful. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And it was so touching I was bawling like a baby! I can't wait till later this year when it comes back! I'm so over Mary and her b*tch attitude towards to Edith.
