alphanguy, did you hear that Anderson Cooper is recording a pilot talk show as a timeslow rival to The View and The Talk? Possibly on NBC?

Anderson Cooper's talker is a syndicated project, in association with Telepictures/Warner Brothers(the people behind Tyra, Ellen, and TMZ). From the reports I'm reading, they are specifically targeting this to affiliates that need a post-Oprah replacement.

Anderson Cooper is as personality-less as it gets. I like him, but he lacks a crucial something, a sizzle, to be something a bit more than what he is now. You can't not have a personality and be a great reporter. And to have a personality you need to stop saying crap like not wanting to discuss private life because that's a way of keeping neutrality. That ain't foolin' no one.

That REALLY bothers me for some reason.

He has the nerve to go on Ellen and other outlets and say, "Gay teens shouldn't be bullied. It's a problem that should be handled," yet this guy can't be bothered to come out of the closet, even though everyone knows already anyway. What the f*ck is that?!

Katie Couric's future, once her CBS News contract ends, will be whereever she can have a "strong role," the news anchor told the DailyBeast. “Obviously, I’m going to figure out where I think I could have a role, a strong role," she told new DailyBeast media writer Howard Kurtz who also cited CBS News insiders as saying she may extend her stay at the network and is aware that she would take a salary cut in that case. "I’ll have to think long and hard about the choices I have going forward.”

She also added: “I love my job at CBS.” And asked about CBS Corp. CEO Leslie Moonves' declaration that Couric's current deal was the last huge TV anchor deal, she acknowledged that some TV talent gets paid handsomely before adding: "How the economic paradigm is going to change in the future, I don’t know.”

Meanwhile, CBS insiders say there is a good chance that Couric will sign a new deal, including a lower salary, with CBS that will keep her at the company at least through the 2012 elections, the DailyBeast reported.

Where's Katie going to go if she doesn't stay at CBS? CNN? CNBC?

She doesn't have that many options, she's old and without the chops of others.

I really wouldn't know. To whom does she appeal? And how much is that group going to pay to have her?

I have to admit, that bothers me as well. Ellen flat out asked him if he was bullied in school, and I thouhgt.."Here's your chance".... but he sidestepped it.
